I am 30 now, I been waiting to get married since I was 24, for me it’s the hardest thing I have to go through. Not knowing what your future holds, wanting to complete half your deen, wanting to be a mother. I know marriage isn’t plain sailing but it’s the most loneliest feeling in the world when all your close ones are married and busy with their lives. You feel left behind and you feel like a burden to your parents. But as time went by, Allah swt has truly helped me, he’s delaying everything for a reason and maybe marriage isn’t meant for me in this world, but what’s better? Having Jannah or happiness in this temp world? I shifted my focus on striving to become a better person so Allah swt can grant me Jannah.

The fact that you are shifting your focus, as much as you can, from marriage to focusing on Allah and your Deen is perfect. I know the struggle you feel and I wholeheartedly know it will work out in the end for you. Because no matter what we plan, we are imperfect planners. Allah will surely grant you a spouse that will be more better than your expection.(93:5) Verily your Lord will soon give you so amply that you will be well-pleased Tahjudd can really help you too. Sis thank you for sharing! I'm literally in the same boat. I'm now turning 31 in the New Years and its been tough watching loved ones often much younger, move on and settle down in marriages and babies etc. I've had to do the same as you and remind myself there is a purpose for everything. Hindsight has definitely shown me he is the best of planners and I've been protected from harm in the past. But its very easy to go back into the 'sad' loop again. Seeing messages like yours are really helpful in reminding me to shift my focus and just enjoy and appreciate the life I Do have! Emotions come in waves but I pray we all find our pockets of sukoon x

I completely understand what you're saying about the age and path thing. I know so many people getting married and having children, some who are so much younger than me. I sometimes feel societal/cultural pressure as an Asian Muslim making me think 'I'm so old! I need to get married' but that's mainly cos of my parents and the 'what will people say' mentality. Otherwise, it doesn't bother me too much as I am focusing on my career and other aspects of my life at the moment, I've never thought marriage is the be all end all. I am comfortable and happy with where I am alhamdulillah. We are all on our own path and when God wills, inshAllah it will happen! 😊

I'm 27 and not married, some of my friends are and some aren't. I did always hope to be married by 26 but as you get older you realise that life isn't a check box, if all you're looking for is a husband/wife you can easily get married, but if you want the right partner who makes you happy, that's worth waiting for (and lets be real - people settle a LOT and not everyone who is married is happy). Don't feel pressured by what others are doing, we all have our own timelines in life. I'm more afraid of settling and realising I've made a mistake than getting married at a later age. PS - it is very common for asian girls to be getting married later nowadays, as you say, we have other things going on such as careers, travelling, hobbies etc and aren't just waiting around for a husband so we can start 'living'. xx

Totally feel you Zahra, im 25 now thought id be married with a kid at least but i trust in gods timing too. We need to have that mini crisis before we realise, we have achieved so much already! Marriage isnt everything but it will come were all in the same boat x

Yes...I completely understand what you mean regarding age and marriage...all my friends were married and mother's by the age of 25 my other siblings who were younger than me included....I didn't get married until 31 but in my 20s I was always looked down upon by family friends even being told i will have to just marry anyone as I'm getting older ...but alhamdulillah I met the best person at 30...so trust in Allah's plans x

Please never forget that being in a bad marriage is one of the worst situations to be in, as our prophet Mohammed PBUH has said. So always be thankful for not being in that situation rather than being sad that you are not married.

I completely understand what you’re saying Zahra . I’m soon turning 23 and already some of my friends are married and have babies or some are engaged while effortlessly managing to continue with college . Its just sometimes feels like I’m being left behind . It’s not true but it feels like I’m not going ahead with my life while people around me are moving on .

Sooo many of my close friends and cousins are getting engaged/married + having kids and it's WILD. My brain can't comprehend it lol. Although I'm soooo happy for them, I mourn our friendship (only a little bit) from when they were single. I'm only 24, but I feel like I'm in a transitional stage in my life. Everything is changing! I don't worry about marriage/kids, because it is not a priority for me at the moment and Allah (swt) has a plan for everyone. P.S. Your hair looks so healthy, MashaAllah!

Defo experiencing marraige anxiety but I 100% trust Allah with the process alhamdullilah Also I do believe getting married young should be something girls should think about because of the blessings that come with it But that doesn’t mean that getting married at a much more mature age takes the value out of the woman

Similar to me . Inshaallah in time soon by the grace of god… it’s also frustrating when people want to speak or mess around and are not mature or serious about commitment… which I just ignore or block because their intentions don’t seem genuine 😊🥰

I understand how you feel about marriage I’m 30 unmarried and I have lost both my parents too not that long ago life is really hard just don’t want to go on anymore.I know it’s bad to say but true no one gets me at all siblings ain’t the same as mum and dad I hope and pray no one is in the same boat as u. Im 23 and Im honestly so so stressed and feel so much pressure about marriage all the time? I mean I havent even have my career figured out yet so I feel extremely stuck at the moment.
