You are doing an absolutely incredible job at running. I’m by no means a professional but remember there are always so many factors that come into running such as your height and leg span. Meaning you need to work even harder compared to someone who has twice the leg span you do. What I mean by this is don’t be so hard on yourself. Every one of your subscribers sees the improvement and the huge achievements you have made. Much love 💛

Hey Conagh- I've been running since I was 15 and I'm now 24. I just had two races the last two weekends and ran at paces I never thought I could and PR'd both distances (10K and 21.1K). It took me literally years to get to where I am today. Don't be so hard on yourself!! We all start somewhere. Pace is all relative, and definitely as a woman with fluctuating hormones we cannot expect our bodies to always perform how we want them to!

Hi Conagh! I usually don't comment but I absolutely relate to what you have been saying regarding the not feeling adequate enough. I had many years where I was so focused on my pace and getting faster that I forgot my reason for running. It became something that consumed me and I tied to my inherit value as a runner. What I realized over time is that I need to keep grounded on my WHY and stop comparing myself to other people. Just like any journey in life, (whether fat loss, career, even finding a parter), running is about going at our own pace and getting the lessons we need at certain times and eventually improving. It's not about how fast we get to said destination or goal but the process in between. Once that clicked for me, running became so enjoyable and meditative practice that I am grateful for getting to do. It became more about how to build mental strength and continue pushing without judgement of myself and learning to love myself where I am. You are doing amazing and I am so excited to see you smash your half!

I’m probably outside your target audience being in my 40s but my 2 cents on your channel and why I think ppl watch you is because you are a beautiful relatable young woman and ppl enjoy you living your life because it’s personal rather than a sponsored clothing haul which doesn’t show case your personality and you sharing all your quirks including your insecurities xxx. Keep up the good work and chipping away at being your best self and living your best life.

I’ve been running consistently for just on a year now, and still feel inadequate and slow even though I run 4:30-4:40 p/km pace. It has taken me a year of running to get here and I still feel like crying mid-way through some tough runs or that I’m not going to finish the run. Just allow yourself more time to progress and keep being consistent and you will find your pace will just slowly improve without you even knowing or feeling like you are pushing harder. I always remind myself that my track record of getting through my runs is 100% and that’s my only goal no matter what my pace is 💪🏻

For running specific gym it can be worth thinking about lowering your rep range. If you’re doing long runs you’re already getting enough repeated efforts. I do about 5 to 8 reps for split squats and calf raises and increase the resistance by a bit more to compensate for less reps

Coming from a life long runner...Trust me when I say, the week before your period is LITERALLY THE WORST. Half the time I am skipping half my runs that week and that is OKAY. I also want to emphasize that your body doesn't know pace, it knows effort. So when runs/ workouts get hard focus on your effort and ignore your pace because you will just get defeated and make the run that much harder. Especially if you are increasing milage and intensity at the same time. I know easier said than done, but you can't judge your abilities on this week in your cycle. Running is the biggest mind game you will ever experience...it so much harder than lifting or anything else I have ever done and once you start to see the mental improvements and strength, I promise it can be worth it.

Hey girl! Just wanted to say I love your content! I just ran my first half marathon ever on May 7. I’m definitely not a runner lol the longest I ran before this was 5 miles. Some advice I can give you is please don’t be so hard on yourself during your training runs. Some of them might be awful and you might have those thoughts of “can I even run this half marathon “ ignore those thoughts! As long as you stick to your training you will be just fine for the race. It’s super important to hit your long runs every week, if you have to take off a run day or shorten the distance do it during the week on your shorter runs. I got Injured and had to take two weeks off and shortened a lot of my runs BUT I always did my long runs every week. That will get your lungs in shape for the 13.1 distance. Also, you might run the half marathon slower then you prepare yourself for I ended up running it a minute slower per mile than I thought. Who cares about the pace just focus on completing it! You will be just fine you’re gonna absolutely kill it! It seems way scarier than it is but once you get out there on race day you will feel unstoppable! Miles 8-11 are tough but just stay hydrated pace yourself and have fun 😊❤

I’ve just stared running for the cardio , I’m so slow I stop and start all the time, I’m just focused on why I’m doing it and why I enjoy it. I wouldn’t stress over the pace, your still running don’t focus on the lace otherwise you will begin to not like it, just stay focused on your why

Hi! I usually don’t comment on vlogs but I am also in the week before my period and I started running about the same time as you did, end of last year. I notice that my pace is much slower in the week before my period (about 1 min /km slower) also with a much higher heart rate (around 180) and I really have the same feelings you have, I think hormones really have a big impact on (my) running Just wanted to share my experience Also I really love your discipline and that you are sharing your feelings to all of us ❤

Don't be so hard in yourself. For a beginner runner you are very good and running a half is intensiv the first time! you have tracked your runs with the garmin watch before the HR Monitor shouldn't make a difference when it comes to pace. If you really want to find out your target pace you should consider doing a lactate test done. You will have to run on a treadmill for a specific pace and a specific pace and they will get your lactate so find out how fast you should be running to target the different training zones :)

Hey Conagh, I'm pretty sure that the chest strap only measures your heart rate and not your pace. You probably only had a bad day or your Body was probably just exhausted. If your body isn't used to this volume of running, this can often happen. So you weren't any slower than you thought you were the weeks before ❤

I feeling sad and alone some days as well - it's been almost two years since my last relationship and til now only some very disappointing and discouraging Online Dating Dates. So this gives hope 💛🥺 also regarding your disappointing run, I got this frustrated as well when not performing as I wanted and eventually quit. Being a perfectionist is hard. But what I learned through my fitness and health journey: your body is no machine and it is okay to have training sessions that suck 🙏🏻
