I saw Get Carter for the first time when I was at university in the early 90’s. The thing that stuck with me the most was when he slammed a guy in a car door during a fight and the glass turned to shards when his head went through it. It had never occurred to me what the world was like before tempered glass and power steering :-)

My two favorite Ted Lewis books are Jack's Return Home and his final book, GBH. Agree about Jack Carter's Law.

Hi, Olly. I just started reading Malice aforethought by Francis Iles. It had been on my TBR list for quite a while. I think it's a highly regarded classic and so far I'm really enjoying it. The plot is elegant and the prose is impeccable.

I've been reading Octavia Butler's PARABLE OF THE SOWER; first book by her I've read. Also Edge # 41, THE KILLING CLAIM and Barry Hannah's BOOMERANG. Variety!

The Geezenstacks reminds me of an episode of *Tales from the Darkside* (an U.S. anthology horror series). Apparently, the writer for this particular episode pulled the name from Brown's work. The story is centered around a little peculiar family named the Geezenstacks. For TFDS fans, it is probably one of the creepiest and most unnerving episodes of the series. Hope you get the opportunity to check it out.
