50:24 Old was full of plot holes but this was a glaring issue for me for the entire movie.. I'm so glad someone finally called this out. I watched so many reviews when it first came out and it went over everyone's head on KZbin!!

i have read the graphic novel old is based on and it's fairly similar to the movie but in the comic you never find out why the beach makes you old and the point is it doesn't matter i think. also the baby survives and the last scene is everyone being dead after the night except the baby who is now an adult and builds a sand castle. (also people growing old works better visually in a comic)

As a career video game developer who has investigated players on live games actively working to break outside of the game space, tracking the individuals down, and acting on that information, while made glamorous and visual spectacular, is overall fairly accurate. They hand wave a lot of mechanics but the overall gist is accurate and faithful enough to not be frustrating as a viewer in that field. Great dumb fun movie, perfect summer blockbuster.

When Disney and Marvel decided to change up the release and made it available to stream on Disney Plus, they offered her compensation for loss of back end earnings, which meant the minimum gross amount she was contractually Guaranteed to earn was now significantly less, even with the proposed compensation. So, she sued, and in response to how Disney responded to Her and handled the whole situation, the Russo Brothers Ended up walking away from the negotiation table (in which they were being asked to direct Marvel's next epic cross over/huge ensemble event movies) and part ways with Marvel to show solidarity with Scarlett, and disapproval of tactics used and how she was treat. ... fucking.... *WHOOPS* eh!?

Then for the movies they should wait at least 5 years and instead of just picking up where it left off or him just getting his 00 liscense it should pick up 15-20 years In the future where Bond has been retired for a long time and either the plot has to do with a vengeful Bastard Bond child or Bond returning to M I- 6 in a M position and having to deal with new youthful agents. I though the Sci-Fi Dune miniseries were alright for what they are. They obviously needed a budget to support some more passes on design, but honestly I liked how silly some of the outfits and sets were, fitting for being more than 10k years in the future. I also loved the weird Guild navigators.

Just watched The Beach that Makes You Old this morning. The greatest twist Shyamalan has ever pulled is making one good movie and then tricking us into watching all the rest with the Lucy football effect. I think you missed mentioning that absolute sophomoric argument between Frisca and Gaël in which she actually shouts that his problem is that he lives in the future because he sells insurance, and he actually shouts that she's always living in the past because she works in a museum. Fuck me. This is the movie I'm about to put myself through, apparently. BTW, went online to see if the source material was better. And guess what? It isn't. Seems to be mostly an excuse to draw naked ladies who were children at the start of the day. Other points: -All the people we like have peaceful or sudden deaths. -All the people we hate because they're cartoonishly awful die horrifically. -The bonitis death was properly horrific and great. Definite highlight. And in her defence, she wasn't being a Karen about the calcium. What a twist! -Did the kids have to crawl over the bonited corpse to get out of that cave? -The deaths of Frisca and Gaël were slightly moving and when they were happening I felt slightly bad for laughing at how stupid and bad this debacle is. -That business with the Madox (?) getting almost drowned because her blouse seems to be made from some sort of kevlar instead of cotton just said, I'm MNS, and I think my audience are idiots. -Alex Wolff is a treat when he's losing his shit. You can't really claim that Shang Chi is big because it went to cinemas - when it hasn't had a streaming release as for yet... I for one would have paid $30 in addition to my D+ subscription for it (like I did for both Mulan & Black Widow) and am waiting for it's digital release to view it. OK, so you cast the (excellent) Idris Elba as 'James Bond', a guy who - it has been established in various ways - was born to a Scottish father and French-Swiss mother, whose family was sufficiently aristocratic that they have a giant ancestral mansion on a giant fricking estate in the Scottish highlands with its own been-with-the-family-for-generations gamekeeper, its own chapel with a family cemetery ... Do you not see the continuity problem here? OK, you could argue "who cares?" and just scrap everything that's ever been established about the character of James Bond and just pretend none of it matters, but ... well, then there's just not much left of the character to care about. Just a gun, a number and some quips.
