You are a walking encyclopedia! Very interesting! I learned something that they never touched on in school! I didn't know that Tennessee had two governors during the period before the civil war! Why in the world would they leave that out? It certainly would've peaked my attention! Thanks for the history lesson! I'm subscribed to the country music history channel and there's really some interesting stuff on there.

Interesting video! I currently live in Nashville TN, (for the last 30 years) and work for State Government. I walk through the area of buildings you showcased on a regular basis. The city has grown (and continues to) by leaps and bounds daily…. Like Literally. Great video and information! 🙂👍🏽 #myhomeNashville

Thanks Billy for the tour of Nashville. I like to see more. I was there with my mother the week that Porter Wagoner passed away. I was there actually recording demos on music row in a studio that Jimmy Buffett owned. We stayed in a hotel on Denombrium street where allot of country music artists stayed at. Not sure if it is still there but you can see it from I-40 near the bridge. I forgot the name of it what it use to be. But the hallway was lined up with autographed pictures of artists. I think the hotel was there in the 60s. I stayed there in 2009 I think it was. And it changed hands several times and changed names to a national chain. I'm sorry I missed spelled the name of the street. But could you tell me what the name of the hotel was?

Wow. I never knew Mr. Presley spoke at the capital. Never ever heard of such. Maybe you could speak more on this event. Just heard lil things, like how that hotel, Sheridan, was one of the tallest building. I remember it was like you could see without an end. It was a sight, inside and out, from mornin time or nighttime. Ps, couldn't help but to lol when I heard you drove for a good minute looking for the mall. Highly enjoyed this. 👍

Yes the archive is moving everything to the new building. I heard rumblings (being in state government) that the Supreme Court of Tennessee (building next door) was going to use the old archive building as well.

Downtown Nashville was my old “stomping ground” when I was attending MTSU back in the early 1990s but I hadn’t been back there for more than 20 years. I was in town in October and November of this year and I was shocked at how much it had changed. Most sadly to me was to see the old car dealerships (and neon signs) on Broadway come down; mostly just to build high rise condos. People seem happy about the changes but it looks to me that it is just looking too much like Atlanta.

Look forward to your story about Elvis speaking at the capitol.
@sandralybrand94073 жыл бұрын
Billy when you showed the Capital building, it brought to mind a story that Billy Smith told on his channel. He told about Elvis being invited to the Govenors mansion. There were alot of signatories there and they had a buffet line. Billy and Elvis were getting their food and Elvis came to a food he didn't recognize. He says " What is that shit? Of course everybody heard it including the Governer. He said the Governer started laughing. Get Billy to tell you the story if you think about it, next time you see him.

That's cool Amy Grant and, Michael W. Smith started there. Amy is my all time favorite singer and, why I became a born again Christian at 10 years old. Listening to her Father's Eyes and, Age to Age cassettes is what made me believe. I have all of her CDs and, went to 2 of her concerts in Syracuse NY. I like Michael W. Smith too but, not as big of a fan. That's a good story about that Pastor going to churches pretending to be a bum. Those are the people Jesus wants us to talk to.

Would love to see you do: The horrific fire March 22 of1916. East Nashville had over 500 homes destroyed, calling it " the fire of the century" & left 2,500 folks homeless. __ Also cover the" GreaT Train Wreck of 1918",Tw0 trains hit head on, killing at least 101,& injured at least 171 more people. It was deadliest US train wreck. My parents survived both. Thanks,& enjoy your video's!👣
