Dropping in to say that I was a teenager during the time the song came out and I thought the song was entertaining until it became the bane of my existence! 😂 Once this song went into steady rotation, no longer could any woman/girl use the excuse that she had a boyfriend when she was uninterested in a guy because the immediate response would be “Whatcha man gotta do with me?” Ugh.😂 Positive K has a “duet” with MC Lyte and some of the lyrics (“I’m not havin’ it!”) are referenced in this song. Also, I don’t know if this is true but I read that Positive K did all the vocals/raps, modulating his voice to do the women’s part too and he even says some lyrics in Jamaican creole/patois.
