I am 72 years young. I started riding 60s triumphs 50 years ago. This year I bought a 92 GL1500. Them old bones need comfort so it's the GL1500 that will provide it. I look at it this way that Great Iron Steed will out last me. It has only 53k on it. When at the pearly gates first question I will ask Pete is where do I find the Honda dealership. I hear tell there is no Harley dealership beyond the pearly gates. The bad guy got the franchise. PS. My first triumph came as a box of parts and I assembled that Steed in my university dorm room.

Love this build. But I'm sure you know that you didn't have to use a new copper head gasket. You could have annealed an old used one with the same results. Back in the 70's when I was riding triumphs we had a hard time tracking down parts and gaskets. I would get at least 3 uses out of an old gasket as long as there were no cracks or Knicks in it. But only with head gaskets of course. Lol. All the rest we had to make ourselves out of gasket paper. Anyway I sure am excited to see this build finished. Love your channel.

i know its a parts build but whats the point of putting rings in that need to be replaced as there worn to the point of not fitting? it just means that youll have to undo all that work and time in the future. or itll be a pass it on problem bike. it doesnt make any sense?? but i do love your chanel but i didnt take you for a bodger especially as you know better. i dont understand why??? im not meaning to sound insulting or risk upsetting you as i respect you but i am confused. why would you knowingly build a problematic bike

That is kinda the fun of it. I know that I will most likely have to go back in but I enjoy doing that more than riding them! But.....I wouldn't pass this off to someone else as is.
