this is such a cool show, literally NONE of these songs were on a record at this point (minus ode to rene if you count the daisies ep), and most of these songs are being played for the first time in this show. everything besides buckingham green, freedom of 76 and ode to rene were all debuted here

Freedom of ‘76 was actually live-debuted in late 1992, but everything else is basically debuted here

here’s a couple of tidbits for all you Ween completionists out there : this vid was shot at the Court Tavern in New Brunswick NJ - where the house sound man was Kirk Miller and who became Ween’s long time live sound guy - (I was sound guy for the Court for years whenever Kirk would be out on tour with Ween) … both Dave D and Claude Cjr were a big part of the New Brunswick music scene in the late 80s and early 90s before joining Ween - I first met Claude at this very club when he was the bass player(!) for a local band called Wooden Soldiers (‘87,’88?) and I first met Dave in ‘86 when he was a student at Mason Gross school of the arts at Rutgers - he was in an awesome psych/prog band at that time called Tiny Lights … also , if you didn’t know , Buckingham Green is the name of a small outdoor shopping plaza (strip mall) in Buckingham , Pennsylvania , a town or two over from New Hope …

i love the alternate version of what deaner was talkin about. its a completely different chord progression in the way of vocals, but it still fits really well

his voice isn't as good, due to years of drug abuse and not practicing fully, but if you look at him now he looks extremely healthy and happy, and he's clearly putting all of his heart and soul into his performances. I think he's more passionate about his singing now that he was in the 15 years living up to the breakup. it's nice to see the boys looking engaged and challenged, rather than depressed and trapped in their own musical persona.

This has to be my favorite live performance by Ween.

What deaner was talking about is different. This seems like an unfinished version. Cool to hear.

Yeah same lyrics but different chords and different timing. Honestly it doesn't sound very good but maybe that's bc I'm just so used to it the way it ended up.

what a remarkable moment in time. it's so charming to see them at this stage, knowing all the growth that follows. Also, I'll never be able to listen to Powder Blue again without hearing "reggaejunkiejew" during the verse.

Yes. The demo version of the song says “N*gro girls picking up sticks” however was changed to “little girls” in the final version.
