I think it's about someone with NPD with a persecution complex. Saying lines like "you probably envy me" "I bet you'd want a taste" and talking about how much better they are, contrasted by the verse immediately in which they talk about how much they think they suffer. "If it's better than most then it's not good enough." She feels the need to always be the best and show up everyone. "I've died a thousand ways each with a thousand times" This might be referring to ego death, an experience in which you lose all sense of identity. She has never felt this, but is so lost in her own head about how much she suffers that she views every piece of incoming criticism as a new ego death. "What did I do to warrant.." She thinks she's some type of martyr "I just want to be important." Well she just kind of admits it here I guess "You wouldn't hate it on your own terms." There's a saying that goes "the thief thinks everyone steals." She doesn't believe someone else would have more integrity than her because she is already the best.
