Wilson’s drumming style always makes me wonder what kind of room they rehearsed these songs in. In say an un-mic’d rehearsal space, a lot of his gentle hat work would sound anemic, but if the drums are mic’d or just naturally loud due to the room, it sounds powerful. Volume levels while practicing have a huge effect on drumming choices.

Pat is actually a great, rock drummer. He doesn’t get enough credit for his contribution to the genre.

this sounds a drum beat i would come up with for a throwaway, yet its perfectly implemented into a hit song, simplicity can do songs wonders

I like this drum track. I've come up with a melody for it, it goes like this "dum dum dum dum dum dum dum dum dum duuuumm" and some vocals, they go like this "what's with my friends spitting on a girl, where have they all come from, oh ho someone looks a little bit like like a famous singer from the sixties that had big glasses, oh ho and someone else looks like some random girl." It's still a work in progress but I think I've got something that could be given away on the windows 10 installation CD.

Speaking from a choir kid’s POV, when we have like harmony or whatever, or some part that’s supposed to click with the rest of the song, it’s not fun to sing alone, but to perform it live, it’s SUPER fun to hear everything come together, even if the part itself is sort of bland or dull. It feels fun to contribute and make the song sound good.
