This song was on the radio 14 years ago when I was driving to the hospital during the birth of my first and only son we ended up in the hospital for days and this song stayed stuck in my head for days and days ,14 years later and this song will forever remind me of that experience just got him a new Schecter frs sls elite for his birthday thank you for the timing on the lesson I think this is exactly what we needed!

I already learned this but at that time I was thinking "dang, I wish Marty had a video on this song". Marty is always the first place I go for to learn a popular song. It's really only the indie folk and bluegrass that I go to someone else to learn, or look up the tabs. Metal isn't one of his strong suits either but the popular metal Marty has covered and he's been getting more covered with the help of Jamie Slays

@@mcwizard3890 sorry im so late but this is tuned down a half step. So on your tuner it will be D#, G#, C#, F#, A#, D#. But of course you can play this in E standard, it just wont match the original recording or Marty's video.

Rivers is a genius and very very underrated guitar player...when a man is a millionaire and takes time off from touring to go to Harvard and pass with a 4.0 then went back to playing guitar cause he missed it...if you every watch Weezer live videos and Rivers don't have a guitar in his hands he looks lost...Thanks Marty even thou I already knew how to play the song but not the one note melody...Thanks alot..

I was in a band that covered this. The first time that we played it live I went to kick on my boost for the solo and accidentally tapped my volume pedal... First note, no signal. I was done the solo when I figured out what I did and finally had my signal back.

I wish Marty spent a little more time on some parts. For beginner guitarists the pace is a little fast at times. The first phrase I got nicely but that “Hendrix” bar on the 9th was rushed past and I have no idea what I’m doing. 😂

At 10:30 you’re showing the guitar solo. I went back to listen to the song and it’s actually G-16th G-18th B-17th E-16th then B-19th hammer on B-21st pull off back to B-19th pull off to B-17th then slide to B-16th

You are my favorite guitar teacher online at the moment, you just have a very calm, and subtle way of presenting the lesson, however, in order to look like a real guitar player it's starting to seem like I need to start wearing fedoras, I'm just not sure I'll pull them off like you. Thank you for everything I'm going to be going to your website today to start premium lessons. But I'm still debating on the fedoras.
