Weezer's Green Album is the best album that never was. These B-sides are 2000s power-pop instant classics. Pair these with a couple others from the era like the Christmas Song and Don't Let Go and they would've had a defining album of the decade. Already mixed, already completed. What a shame!

I saw weezer a few months before the green album was released and they opened with rivers solo on a piano singing “I do” and then immediately amped up the rock with “My name is Jonas”. It was so awesome.

I saw them in Athens, Georgia on this tour. It was magnetic when they opened with “I Do”. There were 3,000 people in the room and you could hear a pin drop. When the curtain opened, the whole band was sitting down. The stage was set like a high school prom. My first real concert at 18. I’ll never forget it.

For Weezer purists there is a semi difficult album release that contains a few green demos. The album is not a bootleg and , I believe, is called Island in the Sun Pt. 3. It contains 1. Sugar Booger 2. Brightening Day 3. Teenage Victory Song 4. I Do, along with a 5th song. You can easily find all these songs by purchasing Rivers’s brilliant collection of demos. If you’re old school at heart don’t miss purchasing a physical copy. Good luck because If you find it the price is a wee bit expensive lol

That rare single release is great. I listened to it and always assumed those songs were part of the official album until I found out they weren't! Even stranger are two other contenders for better Green Albums: The Japanese release that contains the Christmas Song as an official 11th song, and the leaked nearly-finalized version that had Teenage Victory Song as the 11th track. It's like we were SO CLOSE to a better green album. Sure, it sucks we never got Songs from the Black but to me the real missed opportunity was Green Album because it WAS a completed solid album all the way until the last second. Whoever decided to cut all the catchy, power-pop 2000s style bangers really made a mistake. This album would've done gangbusters.

Burning Sun is the only song that sounds like it could've made it on the album. You can hear obvious pieces of Crab, Oh, Girlfiend, and Simple Pages on the first 2 tracks. Cool to see how the jam sessions turned into the record tracks.

Wow, this is great! I loved 2nd track, and third is a banger, bruh. Green album b-sides, huh?? The green album is what made me a weezer fan and will probably, “secretly” be my favorite. Otherwise my top 5 would be Pinkerton, blue/maladroit, make believe.. I see how this fits right between green and maladroit. Weezer/weird Rivers for life, bruh!

Burning sun best song during green album session era. Is this a river's only demo, a pre production band demo or is this a full finished band track from the actual green album sessions that just never got mastered or whatever and should have been an official b side but rivers chose not to?? When he originally leaked the clip he knew to cut it before the second verse hit because that was when it got weak But man that intro ,first verse and chorus really is the perfect combination of green album and pinkerton Big mistake trying to rewrite it. I actually don't listen to any weezer after the red album. If anybody's hasn't heard the song smokin crack check it out. It is classic Weezer great song just maybe needed a couple lyric changes instead of smokin crack

Someone please tell me he's not saying "I'm wanting to, I wanna do you" in Oh Lisa. That is what it sounds like and it's why I cannot with that song. Also may not be a popular opinion, but I think they chose right with the Green Album track list. Almost every one of these songs have really, really weird lyrics. Just some of the lines needed 5 or 10 more minutes to come up with something a little better. "I hope you cope with me tonight" is weird. Singing about mashing you in the gnads is weird. I guess the Green Album has moments like that, too. So okay, Teenage Victory Song over Crab would've been better. Starlight is also better than Crab. And Brightening Day is miles better than Weekend Woman.
