actually no, in real life the Wehrmacht's Infantry divisions were not that mechanized at all. They relied massively on cavalry and many walked on foot, and when they did have vehicles it usually wasn't a Sd.kfz.251 armored halftrack or something like that but probably an unarmored Mercedes Benz L3000 probably towing an artillery piece of some description. Compare that the the United States Infantry divisions which were enormously mechanized with M2 and M3 Halftracks and almost never used horses.

I haven’t played this game, but a lot of this was simple mistakes made by the players playing as Germany, for instance the tanks would never show their side armor to the enemy and also, in optimal fighting conditions the tanks would be supported with mechanized troops with mechanized AA, and anti-infantry halftracks such as ones armed with howitzers or mg 42s so idk how well the game portrays this but I’d like to see that at least before we call the game inaccurate

How much more field units or close air support could the allies have fielded, how much quicker could they have destroyed the Luftwaffe if the effort that was sunk into the strategic bomber programs was spent differently? You do realize that the development of the B29 cost more than the Manhatten Project, or the V2 project probably combined?

AP power in-game scales by range, +1 per 100m. Stuart starts at 8 or 7 depending on variant, so can go to 17/16 at 100m. The Tiger II has 9 side armor. All US/UK 37mm and 2pdr guns are implied to be firing APDS I think, but the performance at max range is still slightly too high for most of the light AT guns(anything below 50mm). Even if you nerfed 37mm AP slightly it would have nuked that King Tiger because it was probably like 200m away in that match.

People try this shit with America in wargame: Red Dragon, they see the m1 abrams and see that you can have an armored battalion and think "ok I'll just get the biggest tanks out there" and don't think to get any quality infantry to clear out towns before letting the tanks through, and they get pissed when American tanks get destroyed by a soviet infantry squad they can't see. Nor do they ever get AA, so they get suprised when you napalm the entire damn forest, like people normally do!

The one thing in here that was absolute BS was the M5a1 managing to kill a Tiger with a 37mm gun. Even at that range, it shouldn't be capable of penetrating a tiger's side like that. Let alone a fuel explosion when the shell would have gone into the crew compartment or engine block at best.

Not talking about the rear, moron. Talking about a shot into the angled side at the front, on a Tiger 2. Even on a Tiger 1 that would not work, let alone a Tiger 2. Either have some knowledge on what you are talking about, or keep your ignorant mouth shut. Even at the rear, 80mm of armor alone means practically impenetrable to a M5 stuart, let alone the fact that it is also angled signifigantly. Also doesn't have as large of exhaust pipes on the rear.

You forgot their armor in 1944 was not properly mixed, hardened, and sealed by the time they were rolling Tiger 2's off the production line. It was extremely common for a non-penetrating shell to still do damage to a tank, but you'd hardly understand that. His first shot bounced, then his second shot hit the exact same spot and caused a fuel explosion. Besides, this game doesn't count angling as far as I'm aware and it the game takes an average/lowest armor rating on a given side as the base armor value since it's a bloody RTS and modeling for true damage would be cancer. It was likely just some spalling and shattering work that killed it. And it's not unheard of for German engineering to go up in flames when you poke it with a 37 gun.

You guys who totally dissmiss the tactical advantages of the training and weaponry that Germany had during WW2 are just as bad as the little kids who think that the Wehrmacht was invicible because they played as a German in COD world at war. Every army during that time had advantages and disadvantages. I served in an infantry unit in the Marine Corps. It is well known that we get most of our small unit infantry tactics along with a lot more, from the Germans. We are not "wehraboos" or "Nazis", but simply acknowledging where the tactics that we use come from.

Melon Lord, that Greyhound took out the Tiger, 25 yards behind it, and with 3 shots. The third shot being the only one to actually penetrate. It was an incredibly lucky kill. A Tiger 2 at that range, and at that angle, has nothing to fear from an M5a1.
