I bought my extremely clean 940t wagon for $350 maybe 3 years ago and ended up putting it on 100 spokes and hydraulics for fun, technically totalling it in the process because it was worthless. Now if you find them they're going for $3500 to $8000.

yep, that is roughly what my 940 weighed before I sold it mine was 1180kg with me in the drivers seat, and I used to weigh 70kg at that time and that was with a full tank of fuel. but i ran a carbon hood, plastic rear doors, plastic trunk, plastic fenders, titanium exhaust that I built myself etc. working as a pipe welder with an x-ray certificate in tig really have perks because I could fabricate whatever I happened to need. I also have a lathe and a mill at my job that I can use as much as I want which helped too when it came to fabricating parts that I needed which greatly reduced cost

They key to avoiding the cops is to proactively call them and say that people are drifting on the opposite side of town that you are actually drifting at

you should do a 16v swap with a B234f for the NA build! I just bought a 940 Wagon with the B234f an M46 trans and G80 in the rear axle. It's awesome :D Its sadly an interference engine but 155hp NA is a lot of fun

I have a fully built 531 head with big valves and a crazy cam and a 2.5 stroker crank sitting here. Just need the rods and pistons and i can start assembling. Should make anywhere from 220whp to 250whp and rev to 8500

Probably would have had the wagon if you did the mudflap delete, that’s a good 10-12 grams each side!

Throw a couple more resonators on it. Straight through flow fx help a lot. My old 302 was straight piped , I hated it , put two on either side after the xpipe and it changed the entire tone.

I'm impressed with how violent she snaps back n forth for a long wheel base boat. The wagon even with all the power still wasn't as quick in transfers. 12lbs boost with all the goodies is all you need to complete

Yeo Colton I’m hopefully buying a 740 from an old man this week, we have agreed a price, I’m in Ireland so it’s a RHD 740 saloon, 2.3 N/A and manual it was crazy cheap, only has 150k miles and underneath it is almost 100% rust free! Can’t wait to mob about in an old Volvo I just have to try and stop myself from cutting the springs and welding the diff

can remove another 6~8kg or so with a lightened flywheel and, aluminum underdrive pulley on the front of the crank moves a good 2kg i think, and makes the engine feel allot nippier, got it a 4.6kg flywheel instead of the factory 12~13kg or so and alu under pulleys and it feels fantastic. been driving a few years with it

Aluminum main pulleys without harmonic rubber on them breaks crank keyways, he's tried it in the past so now he steers clear, racing pulleys with harmonic rubber cost a lot more. With N/A you actually wanna hold on to the torque you get from rotational mass, because if RPM's dip too much it's harder to get them back with a snappy throttle response, otherwise you're stuck kicking the clutch. IMO it's better to retain the factory main pulley & flywheel even if it means the loss of some throttle response.

@@ToreDL87 well a simple fix is to buy the upgraded steel keyway and timing gear for the crank, daily driven mine and it gets abuse, the older redblock's did not have harmonic balancers and did fine, but if he is making a spicy NA engine it should not be a problem and with how light his car is, also the alu pulley is alot smaller so it drives the water pump slower to not cause cavitation in the water pump if you gonna live at high rpm's and free's up HP.

@@Stale_Mahoney Didnt know about the early redblock main pulleys, but he has still had issues with alloy mains, I think he said (its been a while now) the crank keyway hole itself broke, i.e damaging the actual crank as well. The waterpump rpm makes sense, but for that you can just get a bigger waterpump pulley.

@@ToreDL87 to be fair even with the stock pulleys the keyways can snap on the stock cast belt gear as it is a weak design from the get go, and especially when reving out or abusing the car at the limiter. personally i have herd as many stories as the stock braking as the few that has had issues with the alu pulley, the upgraded gear and keyway is the superior path even if sticking with the standard pulley

1080kg is pretty dang good already. glass is so frickin heavy. Many 700/900 cars have weights inside the frame rails , behind the bumper struts. easily 1 kg each. You got those out? Then there is the weight which is sometimes mounted onto the firewall somewhere in the middle. Another 4-500grams. Maybe you ca also ditch the bumpers and just mount the bumper covers? Another few kg's 1050kg should be possible i think.

Yep frame weights and firewall weight are part of stage 1 reduction. I took the rear bumper off and am running just the skin and i have considered doing the front.. But it may be good to have for people spinning out infront of me tandem drifting

Man my Volvo is the same exact color lol gle. Though I was wondering, in Canada, I’m assuming you guys have the bendy tube that sucks hot air from the manifold to warm up the map stuff. Do you automatically rip them off when you see them? I know they’ve been known to have the flap stick open and fry a bunch of stuff. Been a fan for a long time and love your fucking videos man, never stop posting

How do you not rub in the rear? I'm on cut springs with fully hammered fenders and still rub when I drift. Hoping maybe bc coils up front will help by reducing bodyroll but yeah how do you do it?
