Your key limes are lovely. So fun to pick your own lime. It is so precious. Citrus are so hard to grow inside long-term without a greenhouse. I have found they prefer a cooler winter temperature (high 50's/low 60's F.) than most people have in the winter. Also, scale infestations can become an ongoing problem too after a few years. If you have a really cool spot with full sun all winter they can do well. Maintaining the right pH over the years is not easy.

Yes, we have been babysitting these for several years. I never had a key lime before and tried eating a slice. Well they are extremely bitter and sour. Have to try using them for baking. It is fun to finally see some on the plant.

Those are gorgeous. We're mostly veg here so I grow a lot of beans for drying (Runners, True Red Cranberry, Good Mother Stallard, Christmas Lima, Cherokee Trail of Tears, Succotash and I always try a new one from Baker Creek). I have 14 cattle panel arches so I've got plenty of room. Sometimes I let the fresh beans dry depending on how busy I get. Separating them from the pods is one of my most favorite things to do. They look like jewels to me. I imagine they were just as precious to our ancestors to get them through the long winters. So glad you got such a nice harvest. Hope the beans help the Mrs. with her health. Worked wonders for me.

We also love beans and with Dale being on a no fat or dairy diet now, they won't last long. Great flavor and easy to grow makes them a great addition to the garden. Thanks for watching.

*Wishing you and your loved ones a delicious and bountiful Thanksgiving.* Love your applesauce canning. Rows of freshly canned sauces are such a pleasing sight. I always like to leave mine out a couple of days because it makes me happy just to see them! 2024 was a crazy productive year here for apples. The gone-wild trees along the roadsides (planted generations ago) were loaded to bursting. Less insect damage too. How is your new puppy doing? I am on the way outside to shovel snow. I sure pray things are getting easier for you and your wife. It has been such a tough season for you. ❤‍🩹

Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family. Applesauce is very easy to can and late fall apples have the best flavor. We buy bushels of seconds that have many varieties mixed in and each batch has a unique flavor. Kiwi is doing great. What an amazing dog that has fit right in. She's a couch potato and has helped Dale and I get through her problems. Only issue is she hates Amazon drivers. Last week she snuck out after a delivery was made and I went out to get it. The driver had parked on the road, she started barking and chasing him down the driveway with me a couple steps behind. The driver was a fast runner and jumped on the hood of the truck. At that point she just sat in the driveway watching him. He yelled out does she bite and I yelled out no, but she heards and hearded you right back to your truck. He laughed and Kiwi walked back to the house. She loves everyone else. Corgis are very smart with a stubborn streak at times we have found. Can't believe someone tossed her out.

WHAT A BEAN HARVEST! Can you describe the flavor? Which beans do they taste most like? The vines are SO ornamental too and grow so fast. I used to grow them for the pollinators and the pretty vines. It is important to soak ALL dried beans for hours (I always soak mine overnight) to get rid of the anti-nutrients such as phytates, saponins and trypsin inhibitors. That really helps with digestion. Not much of a bean eater myself because I struggle to digest them. You just convinced me to grow them again. I will have to order seeds.

They have a slightly meaty flavor. A little like the Jackson wonder lima beans we used to grow. They make awesome baked beans when mixed with kidney beans, pork and beans, onion, brown sugar, and bacon. We both hav digestion problems aand these are fine but they do cause farts. Email me your info if you would like some for you to try. Thanks for watching.
