Have you thought about talking to a doctor and getting their opinion on how much you should eat? If anything, they might be able to put your mind at ease from a medical standpoint. I can see how confusing that is for you. I have been wanting to get my RMR tested because I have lost a lot of weight and want to make sure that I haven't screwed my metabolism all up now. I figured I'd have to talk to a doctor though. I don't know if I would trust the people at the gym, but that's just me.

I agree! the guy was there was just doing what he knew how to do. since it was free through the gym on base, he has to go over the results. honestly, unless i had a thyroid issue (which i got checked and i dont) I wouldn't really trust a doctors advice on what to eat for my goals unless i had a medical condtion. i trust the science and more importantly, i trust what my body is telling me and that is to eat more whether i gain weight right now or not! I do agree you should get a test too! if you're body has adapted to eating few calories, thats no way to live in my opinion. Maybe a gym on whatever base is near you has the machine :) its good to know this info

Just eat your renting metabolic rate calories and go burn some calories and you lose fat
