If you do essential oil, try adding 1 drop grapefruit, 1 lemon, 2 eucalyptus, 2 rosemary, 2 of either fir needle or cypress or spruce to 2tbs/10ml carrier oil like grapeseed oil and apply 3 times a day. Worked for me! It also helps if you are prone to ear infections or get swollen lymph node behind the ear.

Tessie, when I think of the changes you've made recently, I'm flabbergasted. You have: 1. Decluttered and cleaned your pantry and the rest of your home. 2. Lost weight. 3. Cut your online time 4. Gotten outside more. 5. Slowed down -- not just your eating, but the pace of your life. 6. Rejected spending time thinking about what negative people have said. 7. Focused on thinking positive thoughts. And I'm sure there are many more that others could add. What a remarkable journey in the direction of health and happiness. Your family is blessed to have you. Later edit: Meant to add that the arm wrestling video of you and your son (and Chevy Man's finger...LOL!) was really cute!

IVE got some purple 3lb weights. I will get them out tomorrow. I know we had our revelations at the exact same time, but there are differences. You had anxiety, I had depression. I have lost about 20 lbs and was at a great weight. So that has left me weak and I am embarrassed by my skinny stick body. I got the foot machine. It feels like Chinese torture but my foot and legs feel stronger. I just found my weights! Yes I need to build up my arms. We both stopped social media at same time and I DONT MISS IT. I believe in prepping but that doom and gloom took all my appetite away. In the Bible it speaks of having extra provisions and storing your home. It was considered being a good steward. Thank you Tessie for bringing us another great tip. Exercise is important for healthy people, let alone someone going through some hurt, grief loneliness etc. This is such good advice. Almost anyone can afford a small set of weights or use 2 large cans of green beans. Perfect for this time of year too. Thank you so much.💪💪💪💪💪💪❤😘😘❤💛😘💛❤❤❤💪💪

Thank you again Tessie! Months ago I was thinking about picking up my weights and didn't. I went on a plan, not a diet and lost 140 pounds. I need to lose 75 more. Then I am done. But the plan didn't push to work out. I am doing the same thing your doing. The only add is When I eat something with meat. I don't eat any starch. When I eat chicken, then I can have starch. I eat every 2 hours small portions. And the weight came flying off. But the skin, not so much. I going to love getting my strength back. I will start tonight!! Thanks Tessie. Have a great night!

Hi Owen. Hope its a good day for you. I spent my day drawing carnations, lily of the valley and peonies. Mothers day is coming up and pink carnation are the official flower for mothers day...actually PINK. AND white carnations symbolizes eternal grief for a lost loved one. At my mothers grave we always place a pink and white carnation. For my dad we leave two white. I know this because I love nature. I know the meaning of each flower and herb. I draw them to put on writing paper and note cards and I sell them. Anyway Owen you know a little about me. Take care, stay safe and buy your momma a carnation 🌺🍃🍃🌺

Congratulations! I thought you looked thinner. I struggled through 11 years of peri-menopause before I was finally post-menopausal. That was 19 years ago. I STILL have hot flashes, not as many as I used to and they aren't near as intense for the most part, but I still have them....sadly. When I drink caffeinated coffee, my hot flashes tend to increase in both frequency and intensity. When I back off coffee and drink black tea with milk, they lessen dramatically. But I still get them. Guess it's just one of the little pieces of the cross that I get to bear. I offer it up to God, and He can make something better from it. God bless you!

I have heart failure so I’ve really educated myself about sodium intake. Please don’t take offense about what I’m going to say because I’m just trying to help. I’ve noticed a lot of what you cook is high in sodium. Packaged mixes of anything, cheese, sauces, etc. Check the sodium content on all of those. It makes a world of difference in how you feel. Keep up your commitment to better health. 🧘♀️

cheese is good for you. please don’t lump that in with the packaged and/or processed stuff, it’s not the same. she did say in prior videos that she is trying to use up pantry items & then make home made versions after that, and that she doesn’t want to be wasteful. i agree with everything else you said and you put it forth in a sincere way, and to not seem harsh. i’m lactose intolerant and can’t have milk and most other dairy items, but aged cheeses i can so i do eat it to get calcium in my body, and not take another supplement. i have some other health issues and take enough pills and supplements so if i can get it naturally i will. what i’m trying to say is we don’t know what tessie or chevy man’s dietary needs/restrictions are and I trust they know what they’re doing for them is best.

I'm so proud of you for putting your health first! It really is about using more calories than you take in. In dieting terms, it's called "CICO" or Calories In, Calories Out. Here's a tip I use to lose weight. Look at serving sizes. Did you know that a large chicken breast is actually THREE SERVINGS? I was shocked by that! I always ate the whole breast. So I started freezing them in serving sizes, and it made it so much easier to resist eating the whole thing. Another tip, and one I'm using, is the 5 to 1 rule. Eat 5 helpings of fruits and veggies to 1 helping of protein. Fruits and veggies really fill you up much more than meat, bread and beans, and have a fraction of the calories. It's a long term change. When I started changing my way of eating (WOE), I had just bought a month's worth of food -- most of it the wrong stuff! I couldn't throw it all away, so I started eating very small helpings of it with each meal, and only buying healthy foods. I've lost 10 lbs. just doing that, plus exercising since I don't have as many chores as you do. Thanks for listening to what I said (and maybe others too) and taking your health seriously. I was so worried about you. love and hugs, Amie

I eat very slowly, always have. I seldom over eat, but I do eat very often. It is entirely possible to overeat, even on frequent small amounts. That’s how people can gain weight after gastric bypass surgery.. Those weights will make a big difference in your strength. I keep two pound weights beside my commode in the bathroom. Every time I go potty I do a few reps of one or another arm exercises. I need to go up to five pound weights, I can buy them at five below for five bucks each. That’s not as good a deal as you got but is still affordable for most of us.

Our property is off a country side road, so I go on walks. I really enjoy the beautiful scenery, fresh air, and sunshine. The longest I’ve gone is 6.3 miles, but I do a lot that are 3 miles: to the stop sign at the highway and back. If I ever gain some extra fat I just try not to overeat and reduce the number of sweets etc. I don’t like heavy weights or traditional workout methods, but rather physical labor and working outside. I wouldn’t mind some small weights like you have though. Many of my friends are amazed that I don’t work out, but I am always doing projects around the farm and grandma’s properties. I also enjoy swimming so I’m not getting sweaty while working out. I try to eat healthy, but I also eat what I want and don’t make any sacrifices when it comes to food. Diets are a scam in my opinion.

Stop eating when you’re full. 3. If you don’t like it, Don’t eat it. 4. Always leave one bite of food on your plate to show you that you do have will power. So happy that you’re feeling better! Exercise is very empowering!

There is a right/wrong way to exercise, my Dear. You must stretch before slinging weights around! You should always count to three as you flex the muscle as well as count to three as you relax the muscle. Please be safe while using weights. I've suffered injuries by going in all gungho with slinging weights around 😢 but I totally agree with the eating slower 😍 THAT alone helps with your health! Also controlled breathing. Breath out on exertion while working with weights. Congrats on your weightloss! 👏👏👏

Hope you are feeling well, Donna. I had breast cancer almost 6 years ago, and I changed my eating habits. I basically avoid meats. My reasoning was that my tumor was fed by hormones, and I know that a lot of our meat comes from animals which have been tampered with as far as hormones. Right or wrong, it works for me. I have mostly fruits and vegetables. The other thing that I avoid is the carbs! I see a lot of the recipes on here have lots of carbs in them. They certainly can lead to diabetic problems. So, basically I avoid a lot of breads, pasta, cereals, etc...As Tessie mentioned, the portions are important. So, if I am eating out with others, sometimes I have small amounts of say, pasta, at an Italian restaurant. Small amounts here and there are not harmful. Of course, I avoid desserts, sweets, junk food. In any case, since I changed my lifestyle, I am 40 lbs. lighter, and I keep it off. The lifestyle is a commitment and a habit that I don't ever want to change. Some people eat almost the opposite, on the Keto lifestyle, and it works for them. So, whatever works, that's great...as long as you stay with it and stay healthy.
