Dr. Isaias Irgau, MD, FACS, FRCS (Ed), FASMBS is president and co-founder of the Christiana Institute of Advanced Surgery (CHRIAS). He has extensive experience with minimally invasive weight loss surgery. Dr. Irgau is board-certified in bariatric surgery with the American Board of Surgery. In conjunction with his associate, Dr. Gail Wynn, he was the first to perform the LAP-BAND® procedure and the first to firmly establish the laparoscopic approach to Roux-n-Y gastric bypass in the state of Delaware. Dr. Irgau has personally performed over 2,000 bariatric procedures with excellent results. He and his associate Dr. Wynn started and established the Bariatric Surgery Program in three of Delaware’s leading medical centers. The American Surgery Center is Dr. Irgau's home out patient surgery center.
