Good idea. Also saturating the ground is very helpful if I need to use a cultivator I will do it following a significant rain fall

Great idea! I placed a 5 lb plate to overseed my lawn this weekend and it saved time and my back.

Thanks, I was trying to think of a way to weight it down and you made it completely obvious the best way

it was the right decision to hang the load on the cultivator, I have been using such devices for a long time, and I really like it, go to the canal and see.

I put a 25 lb. weight on mine and it's even more incredible! The only drawback is that the tines are obscured by the weight. I'm engineering a heavy lead weight to solve the problem.

Olympic style plates will fit, but standard style plates will be a very tight fit. I had a whole yard to do (reseeding my lawn). I used a 5 lb disc weight like you did, and added some ankle weights, which made added or subtracting weight a snap. I also found a very light sprinkling of water helped it do it's thing.

If my new grass is 1/2” high but thin, can I use this tool on top of new grass? Will it damage it? Thanks

I also flip it upside down for deeper cultivating or aerating the lawn. Was easier to do lawn!

@@stoneyj1a1 Gotta love these people who buy something and write a review about it, claiming they threw it out after one use. Yeah, right. If they hate it, they can donate it to a garage sale or set it at the edge of their yard with a sign that says FREE.
