Many researchs have give an effort towards reducing this Topic. Appoximate Methods which you devided in Galerkin, Colloation method and Least squre method. Galerkin weighted residual method as method for solving differential equation derive the local stifness matrix as you said and local loads vector of 2-node beam or surface in hydrology well in by implying Colocation Method. You present what we must do in part Whighted residual method part - integarte by parts to balance the continuity reguirement between and the weighted functions what you literally excellent present in Least Squre Method part with application of nodes in approximate way. This is valuable presented and divided method.
