I'm part Romanian as most of my family was born there. Been there before and met loads of Romanian people in my country (Germany). Romanian girls and women are very impressive people. They're usually down to earth while being independent and strong. Very impressive students as well if they dedicate themselves to it. Those three women are prime examples of tenacity and an incredible work mentality.

This was so good! I streamed it through Weightlifting House tv. But it's still great content. Having Max and Seb's commentary was so amazing. I enjoyed watching the competition more because of them. There is a slow motion video of Loradona hitting a max snatch; as she settles full depth & locks in the catch her whole body & face shake and her mouth shakes & a gut wrenching sound grinds out muffled scream from her mouth. Even her jaw & mouth shake. The expression on her face is one > kill or be killed. It is incredible to the inner earthquake she went thru to fight that weight overhead

I was the weakest kid in my whole school for years. Then I saw Arnold Strongman Classic on TV and stated doing something about it. That would have been around sixth or seventh grade. A couple of 5 kilo dumbbells and so on. It worked. I went from unable to do one single pull up to easily doing more than ten before I graduated. And I also ended up able to clean and jerk around my own body weight. Keeping an enthusiastic eye on strongman and later, some weightlifting as well. Now, many years later, that video of Women up to 49 kilos European Championships 2024 met my eye. I have basically rediscovered weightlifting with that. Best of luck to Mihaela in Paris. The way she combines raw strength and control fascinates me.

Over time I have noticed that you can passionate about something no matter your tone. They didn’t ask for their tone of voice to sound like that,that’s just how they sound. Remember this is a max out lift, any forward or backward movement is always going to be power that could have gone into the bar's vertical path. That being said, make sure you watch them in training halls to see how they work with sub max weights and if they still have this non traditional technique.

So I think that what the truth is that there’s a double standard in what’s acceptable and we turn a blind eye to world class competitors and what they do but the average weightlifter is more likely to be criticised and ridiculed
