Weiland Tank Sewing the Armhole

Thank you for this video! Is there a trick to not getting the fabric by the shoulder seam stuck on the opposite side when sewing? I try to go all the way up to the shoulder seam but I'm having a hard time getting around the fabric on the other side (if that makes sense!) Thank you!
