Race winning brands is the private equity group that you are speaking of, they are screwing up all the entire HiPerformance market today. As far as CHI and CID and Higgins I was involved in their port designs and manifolds also. CID is in Minnesota and the castings come from Profiler, I hope that helps.

I ordered my Higgins sbf heads directly from them. Stand up people and excellent products. Zach Smith at ZSR engines in Missouri is now a dealer. He only does Ford engines though. He’s also a good dude. Ordered a lot of parts from him and when the time comes he at least do the machining and possibly the assembly.

The one thing i was always impressed with was Afr exhaust port flow. They werent huge cc but for sbf exhaust port flow is so good even compared to other aftermarket pieces. One company you didnt list is Performance world. It looks like a Canadian company that domestically machines foreign castings. They have HUGE cathedral ls heads that use offset ls3 rockers and have a 252cc intake port. They also have regular gen1 castings and huge rec port ls3 castings as well. I dont expect a set of these to cross your bench.

I was looking at putting a set of the afr 227cc eliminator race ready racing heads on my sbc 406. Looking to put a big solid roller cam in the engine to go with the heads. Looking to have my compression ratio at the 11:1 or so and looking to make 500 to 600hp. This is just gonna be a play toy for the street and maybe track time. RHS was a porting service back in the day. They started Comp Cams in the sixties. Then the tail wagged the dog in the 80's and Comp Cams shut the doors on RHS. In the early 20's Comp bought the Pro Topline foundry in New Zealand and revived the RHS name. I have RHS heads on my 351W stroker 389, unfortunately times have not been good for RHS once again, I believe they have disappeared.

Back in the day before for sbc iron heads it was the pro Topline heads😎 neighbor had a stock block iron headed sbc (408) made 650hp na. Also had a 200 shot single stage. Ran 9.80 na and 8.90 with the spray in a foxbody notch. Those old school pro Topline heads were sweet. Can’t find them anywhere now. It’d be like finding gold. Pretty sure when this motor was running in the mid 00’s those heads were already out of production and bought out 10 years earlier. Now it’s the known RHS pro action stuff but I’m not 100% sure if the heads are as good as they were when the New Zealand company was making them back in the 90’s, and I don’t think they even make an iron head anymore. Maybe I’m wrong.

It's a street application so I'm looking for power gains throughout the power range. From what I have read/researched, folks are upgrading to the AFR 195 heads with an applicable cam (comp XE274). In this video you mentioned that Profiler makes the best sbc head in your opinion; is that for street or race applications? Or both? Thanks in advance! Just subscribed and have been looking through your library but can't seem to find anything on the AFR V2 Heads. Purchased a set of 335 for a twin turbo race motor. I was told the AFR had .250 more meat on the deck so works best on turbo applications. AFR were super supportive even going as far as swapping out springs due to the lighter rates on the as sold Heads. AFR are really great to work with IMO. Originally had a set of Dart Pro One of the same size that needed work. Tried to get them refreshed at Dart (World Mach.) And couldn't even get them to answer. I would appreciate any ideas you may have. Mark Samford in Abilene massaged em lightly. (Guides/chambers)

As someone who has a Mk3 supra. My knee jerk response is turbo. But the super charger idea has me thinking 🤔

What do you think of BBC Brodix Dragon Slayer heads? I'm thinking about using them for my pump gas 632cid engine

I think it is a poor choice for that engine. The 3xtra stuff is superior

@@WeingartnerRacing Eric, thanks for your honest reply on that. I regard you as an expert in your field. Please allow me to ask if your answer to that same question might vary if I added that this same pump gas street/strip 632cid engine will be rev limited to 6,400 RPM (my choice) and that I intend to make as much torque and power with it only up to 6,200 RPM, and in a 4,000 lb car?

Interested in knowing your opinion on who makes the best sbc 23 degree head. From a perspective of out the box to potential to for room to grow for all out hp. (My non professional opinion is afr)

Brodix heads have the greatest potential after porting. If you push AFR heads hard with porting you hit water.

What applications are the “exotic” sbc heads you mentioned used for? For instance those Brodix 1213 heads. By the time you got the heads, ported, added valves/springs, 2k shaft system and the special lifters wouldn’t a bbc be cheaper?
@WeingartnerRacing
@WeingartnerRacing 2 жыл бұрын
Yes a bbc would be cheaper. However some people just like the sbc or they do it for rules.

@@WeingartnerRacing well I don’t see these two heads you mention used in any circle track stuff. As far as drag racing a bbc is cheaper and you have to weigh more so spending coin on lightweight parts is lessened. Don’t get it. Really enjoy you channel. Hope your health is treating you right. Maybe see you in Tulsa sometime.

@@garymckinziejr7194, That's depending on what drag racing you're doing. No time, grudge racing has become extremely popular. In N/T grudge racing, the biggest, most accepted platform is the nitrous sb with stock bore spacing. Even though sbs nitrous sb's are getting as fast as low-low 4's in the 1/8 on a 275 or 28x10.5 tire. The moment someone hears you have a bb, they start begging for spots.

@@my87z28 your reply makes zero sense as none of the racing you mentioned is sanctioned with rules. Nobody is spending 10k on some head combo to grudge race.

@@garymckinziejr7194 you’re kidding me right? You do realize there are plenty of 3.80-4.40 1/8 mile grudge cars, right? I know multiple people, personally, that have $45-55k into just their small block engine. Good friend of mine just sold his USED billet sbf nitrous engine for $46k. He runs nothing but grudge racing, all over the eastern seaboard, and as far as Texas. He typically runs for $10-20k a race.

Are the valves that come on the liberty ls1 heads any good or would they need to be purchased bare and fitted with other valves? Would these heads be better as cast than a set of 243/799?

Seems nobody here mentioned Frankenstein engine dynamics products, they make their own heads and manifolds, I run their m311 head with their low ram sniper, what I like is the heads and manifold is designed for each other port matched and flow tuned .

The only franks that come from the U.S. are the F series. The monsters are cast in China and finished in Weatherford, TX. Alot of ppl have switched to Frankenstein heads in the drag world. But I keep hearing that the F series tend to have issues.
