I feel like ever since A Moon Shaped Pool, Thom Yorke's just sort of... giving the fans what they like. In a good way. I mean he seems at peace or something and just seems to want to make folks happy
@Someone89a2 жыл бұрын
Yeh he really seems to enjoy just playing and seeing smiles. Also maybe that’s a reason why he started the Smile band - just making music that makes him and his band smile

that makes sense, considering they actually played Creep a few times in recent years

might also have been 'since the pandemic' - lives so fleeting - maybe he just realises that people get so much joy from what he decides to do, and there's nothing more valuable than making other people happy. IDK. It would be great to have to think about that 'problem!'

I dropped acid in 1998 when Meeting People is Easy came out with a group of RH fan friends in my barracks while being investigated for our Top Secret clearances in Navy Intel school in Virginia Beach. They were all RH fans and at the time I wasn't. I was (and still am) a real music snob and all I really knew of them was Creep at the time. The acid must've burned them into my subconscious. Two mornings later my alarm clock radio went off at the moment Thom's beautiful vocals were playing on Karma Police (for a minute there.... I lost myself...., well, you know). At the time OK Computer was so unique, so beautiful and dark, and the sound was just so thick and full. That night, I took that huge chance of taking acid (the one and only time in my life) on a military base, in intelligence school. I am so glad I did. I've been in love with this band and everything else Thom has been involved with ever since. To my friends who were there with me- Jonathan Major, Sean Turner, Louis Archiello- I think of you often. That brief period of time with you was one of the most memorable times of my life. Now, in my mid-40s, hair going grey, face beginning to sag, skin getting old... I hope this comment finds you, somehow, somewhere. You were all very special to me. Thank you for insisting that I give RH a chance. I know JM has since turned away from this band- I think you're crazy, by the way, but you were always the one that got away. I love that JM that I met back then, and still do, though I know you are now a totally different person with a whole life that has gone by since. Sean- you were such a sweet person. Remember our drive from Virginia Beach to California listening to OK Computer and the Chemical Brothers? What a trip. I'll probably never see you all again. I'm glad we had that blip in time- Katy.
