Yes, I absolutely can confirm the myths about Bim. And about Einstein/Kleinstein: while Kleinstein is "small stone", Einstein literally is " one stone/a stone". Also Siegfried has the word Sieg in it, meaning 'victory' :) And because of Lance being called Siegfried, I tend to call the Pokémon I plan to defeat him with 'Hagen'. You see, with the legend, Siegfried slays the dragon Fafnir and bathes in his blood to become invincible. But a maple leaf gets stuck in his shoulder blade and the blood never touches the skin there - that's the only spot he's vulnerable in. Hagen was with him at the time and saw the leaf - and later kills Siegfried by using this knowledge to his advantage. So yeah, little storytime here, hope you enjoy :)
@juliamavroidi86012 жыл бұрын
Hagen didn't see it, he convinced Siegfried's wife to tell him, by pretending he wanted to protect him Also I was so mad when Bim wasn't in Gen 2
@thechatteringclown4 жыл бұрын
funfact: siegfried is basically the achilles of german folklore. in the story, siegfried baths in the dragon's blood, which transforms his skin, making it as tough as the dragon's scale, which in turn makes siegfried almost invincable. unfortunately for him though, he missed a part around his shoulder, where a leave from a nearby lind tree fell onto him and prevented the blood from reaching that area. so siegfried became this basically undefeatable warrior, except for a single, very vulnerable area on his body that would ultimately be his downfall.

Well, I already watched that video when it came out, so I know all of them now. Also, it's "Bim" not "Bin" on the Abra Kadabra thing in German. And Pound and Peck both got translated wrong for German as well, making Pound "Pfund" the word for the weight measurment and British pounds, and Peck "Schnabel" whichj is literally the word for "beak" making it weird for a Goldeen or a Nidoran to use it. Those were only fixed in Gen 8.

Patterrz was so shocked that Pokemon were seen as to cute, but that's exactly the reason the Digimon Anime was way cooler (and that they have real stakes, saving the world, characters dying) Greymon appears in episode 2 and is actually pretty weak in the Digimon world, but a Pokemon similar in strenght and size would be.....Groudon. ps: Okay I just looked it up and even ProtoGroudon is only 5 meters(16ft), that's not even close to Greymon, Greymon is an actual building at least like 40-45 ft

I havent heard of the rumored Pokegod "Bim", but seems likr its pretty "obvious" why that rumor exists: In english, the Abra line goes "Abra, Kadabra, Alakazam" and thats the whole sentence. In german, the sentence is a little bit different and one part of it is missing. There its "Abra, Kadabra, Simsala Bim". Simsala being Alalazams german name. The "Bim" paet in that sentence was left out. I guesd thats the reason german players rumored there was a "fourth Alalazam-like Pokemon"

This was a fascinating video! I love puns and word language and seeing how translations are so vital and how you HAVE to have context or else stuff like what was mentioned happens.(back in high school, my friends would buy me a mcflurry after school if I corrected the translator mistakes Google translate made xD) As a Mexican-American who grew up with Blue and Red and as Pokemon caught popularity, religious moms were urged to not allow their kids to play the game or get the merch because they were demons and the devil's minions! (which could have started from another translation confusion? Pocket Monsters and what not???) anyway, the Spanish-speaking kids thinking fish were evil might have added fuel to the fire of religion against pokemon maybe. Like in my mind, the fish and Spanish thing made me think of Lent. When on Fridays we're not allowed to have red meet and only eat fish...I'm willing to bet some overzealous religious group would have claimed Pokemon was propaganda from the devil to have kids hate lent.... My crazy overly religious aunt tried to parent shame my mom cos she let me play. Crazy...crazy roads Pokemon's been on, and plenty of wild stories that they have...still one of my fave franchises!
