It makes sense, just a bit too ambitious and had too many flaws. It was probably meant as a terror weapon, in addition to combat support. Think what World War I German or Austro-Hungarian troops would have thought seeing those huge wheels smashing down forests or slicing through houses, with multiple guns blasting away at them. You'd be lying if you weren't scared spitless by something like that.

The last one is actually a good idea, or at least it was at the time. Nowadays that kind of direct flyover would get you shot down. The real downfall seems to be that they used ppsh gun in it, which probably could have been replaced with something suited to the purpose. They probably had to use them because of the low budget though...

This idea wasn't totally dropped out as some ground attack planes were tested with what is called the SSPU-22-1 gun pods. Basically you could fit up to four of those on a Su-25 (basically four times its actual canon) and angle those downwards so the pilot could shoot while the plane was flying straight and at low altitude to avoid either detection or being targetted directly. Basically an even more deadly GAU-8.

With so many things to choice from it's no wonder they couldn't include all of them in one video so here are some honerable mentions -Fedorov avtomat, AVS-36, AS44 Fully automatic rifles dated from 1915, 1936 and 1944 with varying succes. -T-35 multi-turret tank with nothing less than 5 turrets for a total of 3 guns and up to 7 MGs pending the model. An unsuccesfull tank, but a very succesfull propaganda machine. -SMK and T-100 A developmental step into the modern (by 1940s standard) heavy tank with 2 turrets. -KV-2 This one speaks for itself... -KV-7 and KV-7-2 "The answer - use a gun, and if that don't work, use more gun" - engineer -PTRD and PTRS Anti-tanks rifles which are still in service and the first users (that I know of) of 14.5mm ammo. What makes them interesting is the PTRD would have a shorter development time than the Sten despite being a much heavier weapon. -T-34 Not the tank itself which on it's own is somewhat unremarkable. But the developmental steps from the BT-7. A-20, A-32, A-34 and so onwards is rather interesting. There's like 7 or so steps between in the development -TT tanks Remote controled tanks based on tanks like the T-26, often used for demolishion, engineering tasks or flamethrowers. -ISU-152 and SU-152 "Big cat hunter" to quote the chieftain "If you find a building offending you, you can do little worse than throwing a SU-152 at it" -Katyusha I'm pretty sure I don't have to explain this one. *Screams in BM-13* -BT-Tsyganov Sonic has been outclassed. -T-26... Yes... I mentioned the T-26... as a tank it is completely outdated and should never go near a combat zone, but it has about 50 variants of which 26 of them would see production. Not only is it the most wide spread prewar tank, but as long as the enemy doesn't have any effective AT measures... OR a pair of skies... it'll do fine and pack more punch than it's rivals. -Object 279 & IS-7 Gotta love the creativity of the Cold war. -MBV-2 This is the most heavily armed train I know of... why have 1 turret when you can have 3? -Zveno 2 to 7 A TB-3 able to carry several smaller aircraft detatch and retatch midt air. -Bereznyak-Isayev BI-1 to 7 Turbo jets and motor-jets are for noobs... try out rockets Fun fact: The A-40 concept was born out of the failed idea of yeeting a tankette from a low flying TB-3 bomber Japan would either copy or make their own idea referred to as "Special type 3"

@simonaspalovis1204
@simonaspalovis1204 2 жыл бұрын
What do you mean by “succeeded”? The reason why most of these experimental weapons were abandoned was because they were too ineffective and/or too expensive to produce. There would have been no logical reason (apart from sheer stupidity) to use such impractical weapons in mass. For example, to make the Tsar tank effective, it would have to have been completely redesigned to something that would ressemble your typical tank design. Most of these weapon concepts were doomed to fail from the beginning.

You forgot the "Armored Tarch". It was a round metal shield (like the type of the feudal russia) but with a handglove included in the middel of the shield. Its use was destinated to hold doors during sieges and to form shieldwalls that could stop asaulting a wall. They were used in the Livonian War and the Siege Of Pskov (1582). But its unpracticall use made it fall in desuse.

The first 2 guns will NEVER work. The first one, the pistol. In order for a gun shot to be quiet. Even if they found a way to not need a silencer, you still need to use sub sonic ammo. Bullets break the sound barrier, that's the Crack sound you hear. Even with a silencer on a gun, you still also need to use sub sonic rounds.
