There’s no such thing as a “horn instrument”. Any wind instrument (woodwinds/brass) can be called “horns”. Clarinets, saxes, flutes, oboes, etc are woodwinds. Clarinets/saxes are reeds, oboe/bassoon/english horn are double reeds, flutes are flutes. Trumpet, cornet, flugelhorn, french horn, trombones, baritone, euphonium, tuba, etc are brass. Anything else (strings, percussion, keyboards, etc) are not winds/“horns”.

Nicolas Lofgren In Jazz, the term “horn” is colloquially used to refer to all the jazz woodwind instruments as all of them essentially function like a horn.
