I love weirdcore and strange stuff so much. I was bullied for being "weird" as a child, I have always struggled with "fitting in" and have always felt kinda outcasted. I had a ton of repeating nightmares and paranormal experiences in my life. I have always used Horror or almost horror stories to cope based on my strange nightmares or experiences. It feels so nice to see others celebrate these same "weird" things and surrealism in general. I love how some of these feel like children's books, the colors, overdramatic faces, easy to follow stories, i think it is all so charming. So glad I'm not the only weird one :o)

i’m so sorry that is what u have to live with. i also use weirdcore as a coping thing bc i just love it. i have all the symptoms of slight prosopagnosia (face blindness) and since some of the oc’s have only object heads it’s easier to see them- idk it’s hard to explain. but anyways i hope u get better and stay strong! and stay weird :D

Weirdcore is, in my opinion, the most unusual and unique style. It is disturbing and cute at the same time, and I used to be a big fan. Now I've gone off it...since i think I only were a good fan of it when I were at a stage were I cried every day. It definetely makes you question things, but its a cool style.

I actually live near the mall that they show! My mother said that her and my father would shop there when they were younger. My sister likes this stuff a lot, but she isn't interested in Yume Nikki, and says it's not weird core, which is funny, because she was listening to music which she said was weird core music, and I heard a track from Yume Nikki called "snow world", which is wintery sounding song with haunting wintery sound, it's calming and ethereal. She swore that the song was not from the game i was talking about, even though the image accompanying the music was the pixel trees and snow from the snow world in Yume Nikki... I had to literally search up the original song, and she kept telling me to stop searching because she was certain she was right and I was crazy for associating anything of hers with something she doesn't know. In the end i convinced her that song wasn't just a random weird core track, and I actually know the origin, sadly she doesn't like to get into new things, and just focuses on stuff she knows. She likes Undertale, but doesn't want to look at anything related to Deltarune. Anyways, Yume nikki is designed to be incomprehensible symbolic imagery, it's weird, and uses plenty of eyeballs, mild depictions of gore, and inhuman things that are either lifeless, or do weird stuff, it's super trippy, and has calming, unnerving and flat out scary music, that feels otherworldly. If you like weird core, and stuff that is packed with tons of hidden symbolism, and no dialogue, Yume Nikki is perfect. It's a pure 16bit horror/adventure game, adventure games back then where simple games where you searched for things, and explored to find secrets to help you progress, they weren't all about fighting monsters. This game is perfect, please try it if you can whoever reads this. It's free on steam. This game is a once in a lifetime experience that I'm so glad i got the chance to play.

Idk but I feel like the first one portrays a delusional person refusing to accept reality and showing a case of maladaptive daydreaming where some pretends to be somewhere else that makes them happy and when forced into reality they hate it and so when they daydream again it makes them even happier because of how horrible their reality is getting, and as it repeats over and over their reality makes them feel worse and worse and their daydreams make them feel so good that they don't wanna even see reality as being a possibility and they may get stuck in that mindset of being in the day dream constantly. (Idk that's all I can remember of what maladaptive daydreaming is) So yeah that's what I thought it was trying to portray :D

If there was a story for the first one I think this would be close to the story: The girl in the video bought a little mirror, not knowing about the mirror being a semi-portal for a demon to swap places with her. She gets the phone call with the demon on the other side of the mirror, but thinks nothing of it. She uses the mirror and then while looking in it, the demon swaps places with her. She opens her eyes and sees infinite hallways of pages of books. She feels lost, and tries to close her eyes to get out, and it works. She is back at home. She realizes there is something wrong with the mirror and smashed it.
