The black butter is basically apple butter. I grew up on it and despite the name, it's nothing to do with butter. It's just a conserve or jam and it's delicious!

Ohmygosh! I'm Malaysian and grew up with Bovril & Marmite! Love spreading them either on white bread or toast with butter.....yum! Love both in congee or beef soup and enjoy a cup of hot Bovril during winter in California. And whenever I visit family in London, I always get a couple of huge bottle of both from Tesco and I even order these two items from Amazon from time to time back in California. 😋

I've had the spicy peanut butter, and honestly it works better as base for sauces for Asian inspired dishes. E.g cold noodle salad with peanut dressing, gives it a nice kick. And Bovril brings back childhood memories for me, because my great aunt used to make this delicious mince meat/gravy sauce with potatoes, and her secret ingredient was Bovril

There are no pieces of fruit in jelly. Jam, on the other hand, is made with mashed fruit. And finally, preserves. Preserves have whole fruit or large pieces of fruit. Spicy peanut butter could be a good subs for peanut sauce in gado-gado, mix salad from Indonesia. We use peanuts crushed with chilli, mixed with a little bit water to make it saucey and then it became peanut sauce. My dad, when he lived in US used skippy peanut butter as a subs for peanut sauce in gado-gado. You should try it!
