I’m the oldest girl grandchild in my family, and was the “little mommy”growing up. I was the baby whisperer, the cuddler of babes. Everyone was always asking when I was gonna settle down, despite me being in my late 30s and chronically single . I finally just told my family “I don’t think that’s in my future, and I’m ok with it. I’m happy, I’m loved, and I love my life” they seemed to accept that , and it’s the truth.

After mama passed and then I married we had 4 dogs and 2 cats between us. I'd hear, "Got a zoo there, huh?" "Feels like living in a zoo doesn't it?" or my favorite at the RV parks when we traveled, "Get another dog why don't ya!" sometimes topped with "You've got cats too!" That was if the cats were in the window to be seen. Don't pay any mind to the judgmental. You're way blessed and it's good to see!

The strangest, and maybe most heart wrenching comment I’ve been told is “You’re too old to enjoy them at this age, you should have had them when you were young”. Sure would be nice if everyone stopped looking at children as a nuisance, because they’re the greatest blessing I’ve ever been bestowed ❤️

When my kids were little I was in a Mother's Group and we had the opportunity to go on tv to promote it. One of the old geezers who was so rude said to me why did you have 2 children and you're not married? I said because I didn't want 3! and that made everyone laugh. lol. The other day I was reading comments on a UT family (who have 2 children, they are 3 and 5 )one of the comments was , I think the children should have there own rooms, why I ask, children like sharing rooms, I had 4 children, they had an option to have there own rooms but they still choose to sleep together. I grew up an only child, I would have friends over to spend the night so I wouldn’t be lonely.

Telling me and my husband are being egoistic for having no children, because who will care for us when we get old? Having worked in nursing homes for a long time I can tell from experience that no amount of kids guarantee they will look after you in yr old age. Let’s just all respect each other’s choices! I had been married about a year when I got pregnant and my MIL told me I had ruined her son's life by getting pregnant. Should have left then. . . . I cannot say here what a hormonal woman's reply was but needless to say her jaw dropped. You do whatever is best for you and your family Sarah. You are loving parents raising fantastic kids - I admire you all. When on road trips with my kids I paid them 25 cents for every cop they saw (my tired eyes needed all the help I could get)

The worst we ever heard was a stranger in a doctor's office telling us to give back our foster to adoptive children since we had gotten pregnant. If we could have our own, why would we adopt foster children. They stated this in front of our children. It was outrageous. I am so blessed to have all of my children. Whether they grew in my heart or womb. Be safe!
