Yes the Titan Triggerfish are know for their aggressive, territorial behaviour. They take on animals ten times bigger than them to defend their nests! It can be a scary experience to mistakenly swim too close to a Triggerfish's nest as they have very sharp teeth!!

Then you punch them in the face or scrape it with a knife so it can bleed a bit.

On the Titan's perspective, the diver may look fishy doing some fishy business in the hood. He/she may be thinking at the time, "What did I do wrong? I'm in a fish out of water situation."

I was on a Diving trip to egypt last year and two of these guys bigger than this one attacked my group and instruc=ctor and it was terrifying. Nothing is worse than the feeling that your next after the others attacks!

Absolutely amazing fish. I'd love to see one first hand. It amazes me to see how the smaller triggers in home aquariums can rearrange an entire 200 gallon tank in a single night.

You are the one that's intruding his territory after all, there are surten things you do and not do. You dont mess with the fish so it doesnt mess with you. You seem to him as a threat and he is defending itself, you need to just get out of his (upside down cone shap) territory and leave him. If you wouldn't have make him "irritated" from first place you would have had a great time looking at that amazing fish from a safe and normal distance. The fish are not there to attack divers, its simpley there home and it is ones responsibility as a diver to respect it.

You don't catch a fish just to make it more safe for diving ffs ! If the diver can't handle the fish then get the fuck out of the water :-D

it is real my friend, divers get paid hefty sums to catch these fish in the wild because you are going to get attacked. they are the most feared of the triggerfish.

@Zac Paul: if you want to see the best of the "bulldozer" Triggers, look out for the Jigsaw Triggerfish, Pseudobalistes fuscus. This fish is a Navy Seal demolition crew with fins. A large specimen (2 feet in length) can haul 20 lb rocks. It'll even try to break up an aquarium display that's been epoxy cemented together if it's in the mood for a little home redecoration. Best way to keep these fish happy, is to give them bits of rock you've deliberately left for them to overturn and look underneath for possible food morsels, the way they do in the wild. Popping the odd tasty morsel under one of the rocks for them to hunt for provides endless hours of entertainment. Oh, and watch for those mouthparts during aquarium maintenance. These are fish whose mouthparts are capable of crushing a small clam, the way you or I would demolish a cupcake. The bigger species, such as Titans, Queen Triggers and Jigsaw Triggers, have mouthparts that are car crushers in miniature. A bite from one of those is NOT good.
