Weiss Schwarz Marvel Reveals, Bocchi The Rock Release Prices, & Union Arena AOT Card Art

Bocchi is one of those sets that is only underwhelming right now because CSM is roaming free. Plus, alot of Bocchi cards are pretty cute and/or peak art. Also from the initial stock, it seems dangerously low; so it can easily stock out and peak if CSM gets axed because this set is a contender for top 1.5 (and has shown results in Japan post-CSM)

there is a bunch of bocchi out there. i dont think people really understand that yet. i think people got used to how it was the previous year at release vs now with first weekend supply and now think it is low.

I would not be surprised if things are the exact opposite for Bocchi the Rock: there doesn't appear to be a ton of supply out there of sealed (been sold out on Hammergirl Anime for a few weeks), and Bocchi fans may be fewer, but they are also generally more devoted to the anime. People identify with Bocchi. So I think it may turn out that there is more demand both for sealed and some of these SSPs than anticipated.

there is a bunch out there. i can say im very sure of that. yep in the long term it definitely has potential. however the fact that build divide has 2 bocchi sets do not help.

@@BigBAnimeTCG It would be hard to gauge. For example, UA sold out with AOT, but you don't see alot of people swaying with their wallets for all the good R4U IPs, and the fact that AL got both WIXOSS and R4U sets didn't relieve the massive hole the initial WS release went through. My money right now is on B/D having a sway, but not that much.

@ronelm2000 which r4u titles are you talking about? the ones currently for preorder arent good. there will always be hold outs for a certain tcg getting the ip. short term it may hurt a little but not too much. i just think long term people are more willing to look at the library of available art across all tcgs and pick based on that. why settle for a bad looking weiss card when i can have an amazing one from a diff game.

@@BigBAnimeTCG I guess we would have to establish what the comparator is for a high level of supply. Is it being compared to QQ2/AoT, or are we comparing it to KoNoSuBa? To me at least, it looks like there is less supply out there than AtLA, for example. But I suppose it would also be possible to go through and figure out how many SRs are listed for sale and calculate an estimated percentage of boxes opened based on drop rates. I'll let you do that ;)

It's a shame that I don't like how Union Arena cards look because they have some of my favorite IPs, regarding Bocchi idk about how meta relevant or how much stock was ordered but in terms of popularity I don't think you can get much better unless it's Jujutsu Kaisen and that kind of shonen there aren't many anime IPs more popular than Bocchi

ya the art isnt for everyone. i dont like every card i have seen. however the ip and some of the other art and action points make it up for me. bocchi might be popular but is it lasting? build divide putting out 2 sets hurts the weiss release too. if i can pick up better art in build divide, why would i want the weiss one outside of it being in english as a collector?

​​@@BigBAnimeTCG Personally for me if its not in English and/or available on Cardmarket, the TCG Player of Europe is like if it doesnt exist, i know its not like that for everyone and some people would preffer their art over Weiss but I don't think any release of an IP that's on English Weiss is going to be affected by being released in other games only in Japanese, if its English Union Arena that would be another story

i think Bocchi is hype for the moment but when you will have reflect in the meta price will drop.

This set isn't meta defining or anything but fun to play witha few different decks. Though for value wise, most will probably overswing and come out negative. Cheap though to put together a pretty deck to say the least.

agreed. this seemed like a trap to me. nice ip but the rarities offered and potential oversupply is going to hurt it.

Union Arena cards are way too messy for me. I also don't have faith in the game because it's incredibly simple and people apparently don't enjoy playing it.

i havent touched any of the unlicensed stuff but being that this really is my first exposure to it i do like it. seems like a decent divide of people that want it or hate it. i think they definitely nailed the collector side.

I got a couple of pretty sweet Haikyuu!! promos when I went to the movie premiere over there, but for standard/common card design, I think I would agree.
