Hey guys the 'bag thing' in the floor is the automatic electric staff exchanger that would swap the staff at full speed at each station without needing to stop. They're no longer used or fitted to the locos. BTW that's me as a young bloke operating it.

It's pretty funny when you look at this today. V/line no longer run freight trains and there aren't as many loco hauled passenger trains compared to back then.

VLines responsibility appeared to be to run it further into the ground without understanding at least with passengers, it’s never about a return at all. It’s about moving people efficiently and reduce traffic on the road.
