Brian, I’m not sure what that disk may be, but there are several Atari archive repositories that have thousands upon thousands of Atari goodies. There are several collections that may have a disk labeled that way, but the first one you might want to try would be the Homesoft Collection. Go to ftp dot pigwa dot net and follow the hyperlinks through stuff/collections/Homesoft Game Collection The AtariAge forums is an awesome place to start, if you aren’t already on there. Good luck!

I do have some questions... why would it be relevant that an Atari 8-bit computer connect to the internet? There was no "net" then, why now? I already have all the images I need. BTW, yes, I do know about services like CompuServe and spent plenty back in the day. Also, how does this stack against already developed platforms like SIDE2, SIDE3, SIO2PC? Is it compatible with Ultimate 1MB, etc?

I am hoping that there will be many different BBS I can join or maybe host a BBS myself using the Fuji net. Also there are others (myself included) that will be looking for old software to try. I am interested in the nostalgia aspect as well and plan to do some programming for fun.
@markstrickland438
@markstrickland438 4 жыл бұрын
It acts as an Atari printer emulator (using ATASCII or period correct emulated printers), SIO2SD and related, SIO2BT, etc. Thom (one of the two guys developing FujiNet, and most of the software...I think) has mentioned wanting to get the community to work on some turn based network games, and that is something I will be doing when my second FujiNet comes in after Christmas. When the N: device work is mostly done, it will be good fun to see how if we can pull off a networked game that is more real time than turn based.

Well there was a "net" back then sorta, using modems and BBs systems... The FujiNet allows us to use the traditional BBs systems over modern networks... It's nostalgic and fun...Also, consider the fact that we can now modify existing games and create new ones that allow network players to compete from different locations, cool?

@@8bitandmore Thanks. Where did you buy the atari2svideo cable that works so good? I do not have luck with those cables. Bought one from Lotharek, but apparently his cable only works on PAL models. Maybe it would be a good idea to make another episode of your Atari video series showcasing how you connect your Atari to the monitor and talking about possible options.
