I think this happening to Poppy is the same thing that happened to Eddie Dear, I'm detecting patterns of psychological torment here. Like Eddie, when the guest book closed thus losing his purpose, Poppy was forcefully cut off from the play and excluding her, and doubled down by bricking up her windows which may have caused her to develop claustrophobia. But I could be (definitely) be wrong, idk.

What makes it more powerful is Poppy's Agrophobia. I mean, she's scared to leave her nest to even go to another neighbor's house, let alone outside (besides for last year's happy hauntings special). And so having her home be tarnished like this to make her so scared is so impactful to me. Like whats the first thing you ruin for someone with Agrophobia. Their safe space, aka their home.

Yeah, in both situations, the neighbors tried to help Eddie and Poppy but only ended up unintentionally making things worse, Eddie feeling useless and Poppy feeling trapped. I'm seeing a bit of a theme of poor handling of mental health issues, as maybe the characters were never taught how to properly deal with their mental health issues, being on a 70s kids show and all.

What stood out most to me, besides the excessive resolve of bricking ip one's wondows insdead of getting earplugs/curtains is how dark everyone's houses are inside. Like... Even in the map of the neighborhood, all the windows are black instead of the usual blue/white. One of the earlier images of Wally has him peeking out of Home's window, and Clown seemed to make a point, same as here, of depocting that it's pitch dark inside.

I haven't seen anyone else talk about this but I think its so interesting that the spoken dialogue is different than what the text in the book says if your reading along with it. Especially since this is based on those read-along books that we all grew up with. Some of the spoken dialogue is either missing from the text or changed slightly. It seems like the characters are slightly going off script because of Home and/or Wally, or maybe the restoration project didn't have all the pages, since a lot of things come in damaged and we can see the black goo is on this book (notably on the first couple of pages). The audio is for sure corrupted in some way from it's true format since we have the ending with Poppy having a panic attack instead of what is on the pages. Also, how the audio cuts out and breaks at the end, just like in the hidden videos we found (I wanna say around last summer, before we got the last Halloween update), where it corrupts when they bring up Wally at the end of the hidden videos. I wonder if these are connected somehow? Side note: the line in the story "Most important of all, not a single peep was heard out of Poppy." is CHILLING. They all just thought this was okay and went along with it? Not only that but in the beginning they were trying not to "scare" her but THAT was the most important thing?
@salmascreativitypen44897 күн бұрын
Kind of just shows the toxic friendships in Home. I always thought that the different text was weird too.
@harlowitter30602 ай бұрын
11:00 Eddie said a similar line back in the homewarming update. Both he and Poppy are telling themselves that they have all they need and that they're fine, which they're not. Also, both scenarios were also spurred on by Sally in some way, and then continued with Frank, with him being concerned about Poppy and Eddie looking scared. Another thing is that Sally is the one who told the story about the neighborhood monster in the last Halloween update. So far, Frank and Sally seem pretty involved in these incidents.
@Galaxy128-h1i22 күн бұрын
You might be on with something like Frank in one scary image (well not really scary but eh) when he has that red envelope like if he knows this is not a happy neighborhood because he is the smartest neighbor in the neighborhood and Sally kinda to figure it out but she can’t for she is the the theater neighbor and acts like I think that the next person will perhaps be Julie for she the Happy and joyful less neighbor and like Eddie, being a mailman, and having his job as an important thing to deliver mail and Poppy being the feather finger and nervous of people asking for interviews and those people are like back main less people in Welcome but not really but as for Julie she might go on with something but I like how you put your thought into that.
@legoqueenleah30802 ай бұрын
The way Poppy is the next character to know what is going on in the neighborhood and even in the real world and when she was in the dark of her home, she got so scared and realized that the door is not open and Home (the main villain of the Website) is trying to control her again and bring her back to the script. Let’s hope Poppy is ok
@leppylessАй бұрын
The road to hell is paved with good intentions, as they say. I think going forward, we'll get to see each neighbor go through the same thing that Poppy and Eddie suffered. Other neighbors try to be helpful -> their "help" (Eddie getting a "day off"; Poppy being cut off from others via bricking her window) is actually deeply distressing -> victim has a psychological break (giving Home or another evil force a chance to worm into their mind?) -> the situation does eventually return to normalcy, but the seed of further suffering is planted....

I found it interesting how the narrator seem to interact with the characters, there are moments of that put in place, sally constantly telling the narrator not to interrupt her, either it the actors getting to involved with the character. also wally reaction to poppy bieng scared just made me go "wait... what?" which was when wally said he was sorry that home wasnt there but hopes she gets well soon, then he was corrected that poppy isn't sick but scared, and he then said "oh, that's good, it work very fast" WHAT DID HE MEAN BY THAT??? WAS HE TALKING ABOUT THE BRICK OR DID HE AND HOME HAD SOME PART TO PLAY. also I find it intresting how the characters took the line of helping poppy get over her fear by brick by brick to literally, as well frank not trying to correct them, I just find it strange, since frank often is the most helpful with others, either he was putting an act up to play along so nobody could see him or that he not what he seems, i am unsure on the second option do since frank did try to see poppy with sally.
