I was so surprised that they seem to understand the request to go meet Ellie. They really seemed be making an effort, as they went near her and spoke with her. But then Ellie was super shy, so they lost interest. Then when Ellie walked over, they're like nahhh lol. But I'm sure with a bit of time, they'll accept her.

I've been rewatching this 'cause it's so awesome! At 2:22, it seems like they understood your request for them to meet Ellie, so they walk up to her and talk to her. But it took Ellie so long to respond, the rest of them lost interest. My mom was so upset on Ellie's behalf when they ran away from her lol. Esp that light blue one, he was super suspicious!
