In 2019, the National Skills University Islamabad was a quiet, underdeveloped space with little indication of its potential. However, under the visionary leadership of the founding Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Mukhtar, the institution underwent a remarkable transformation. Despite facing significant challenges, Dr. Mukhtar and a dedicated team of experts worked tirelessly to turn the university into a thriving center for skills education. Today, it is Pakistan's most dynamic skills university, and it is recognized nationally and internationally.
Under the inspiring leadership of Dr. Mukhtar, the university has achieved significant recognition, including being designated as a UNESCO-UNEVOC International Center for Skills Education. The European Training Foundation also acknowledged it as a Center of Vocational Excellence. Dr. Mukhtar's vision was to create an environment filled with the energy of students dedicated to their futures. "My heart longed to hear the joyful sounds of progress," he said, "and today, we can witness sons and daughters advancing in their chosen fields. Thanks to God, we achieved this."
