This is the first implementation of NFTs I’ve seen that isn’t extremely scummy and money grubbing, rather it’s using them as a tool to protect creative’s intellectual property. Worth noting that these NFTs are *nontransferable* meaning Adim isn’t a market, it’s a forum. Seems cool, will monitor but do keep in mind that any business that lends legitimacy to NFTs also adds credence to all the money grubbing scum and environmental disasters out there so like… maybe this could have waited another year or so for the NFT craze to die down a bit more?

NFT = digital property that can automatically execute code, that's it. that the public's first encounter with NFTs were cookie cutter, 10,000 profile picture projects doesn't mean that the underlying technology is in question. It's like being in 1998 and hearing on the news or from friends that the internet is full of Nigerian email scams and saying "Nike should have waited a year to launch it's web site after the scams died down." In both cases, the ubiquity of the applications built on the underlying tech will be 100x bigger in 10 years, there's no point in waiting just because some early movers happened to use it the tech in uninspiring ways.

Either way, I think there's plenty of use case for blockchain. Crypto is, at base, about building systems that curtail human failure./wrongdoing E.g. Bitcoin is about hard currency - no one can just make more of it, devaluing it for their own gain. And no central authority can edit the ledger/database (plenty of usecases for this). Aave (DeFi lending protocol) - loans based purely on collateral, not reputation, promises, etc Monero - private transactions. Bitcoin is pseudonymous, not anonymous. and even though Bitcoin maxis love saying it's private, it's the opposite. It's a public ledger. Visa is more private than BTC. So Monero seems a great hedge agains CBDCs. Arweave - decentralized storage. Wanna archive something that another party might want to hide/edit? Not suited for private storage, but the amount of public info that maybe shouldn't be on the servers one or two massive corpporations is vast.
