Abe Vigoda, the old fella playing Otis, was a respected character actor who did movies like THE GODFATHER, and in the early '80s, People magazine mistakenly announced he was dead. (He was acting on a sitcom called "BARNEY MILLER" where one of his co-stars had died, so they probably meant to refer to that actor) Vigoda took out a full page ad in all the major entertainment papers where he sat up in a coffin with the caption, "I am not dead," so it became a running gag the rest of his life. There even used to be a website where you could check, "Is Abe Vigoda still alive?" So when Otis says, "I should have died years ago," it's a callback to that incident. Vigoda finally did die in 2016, just before David Bowie passed.

I met Kel Mitchell at comic con back in 2017. He promised a good burger 2 will happen. I watched it two weeks ago and you should definitely watch it. Kenan and Kel’s chemistry is dynamic.
