Fun little thing in the dialog that you can easily miss. When Mephistopheles is questioning Sock at the end, He's intentionally hitting him with fast questions to put Sock on the defensive to rile him up. And because Sock is on the defensive he clearly states that he likes Johnathan without thinking about it. There is no doubt that Mephistopheles noticed the look Sock made when he saw Johnathan's photo. Due to it being sort of Mephistopheles' job to torment those under his purview, Clearly he knew that the Demon job would ultimately torment Sock in this instance. Basically it's doubly sweet for him because He knows that Sock will either succeed and he gets both Johnathan's soul and Sock's torment of causing the death of someone he likes or Sock essentially torments himself with the fact he wants to be with Johnathan and ultimately cannot truly do so with Mephistopheles not even having to lift a finger until he Fires Sock. No matter what Mephistopheles is winning in this instance with Sock in a personal hell, tormenting himself. Or I'm reading too much into it.

I’m autistic and this is my ULTIMATE hyperfixation. it has been for about two years now. Can we take a moment to appreciate how good the voice acting is though? I'm assuming they aren't professionals since this is a student thesis film (although admittedly I know nothing, maybe they are). But my god, their performance is amazing. I watched this first many years ago but every now and then I come back to re-watch it. Still hoping it might become a series... And every time I watch it again, I can't help but adore the voice acting. It's so wonderful. I don't know if it's possible but I sure do hope if Erica can ever make more of this, that she can get these VAs to reprise their roles.

I just realized something. Jonathan telling Sock that he sucks at his job, when you think about it, isn’t really an insult. Are we just ignoring the fact that this was animated with pencil and paper Edit: Before the 6th person comes and tries to "correct" me in the replies, READ THE DESCRIPTION. Animator said it themself that this was animated with pencil and paper. That alone should be enough proof than whatever us viewers have to say about it-we didn't animate it so we don't have any place to talk. Had to edit this in because I'm tired of people replying "those are the computer tool's sketch lines" without anything to back themselves up... Edit 2: Since apparently it STILL isn't clear enough, in the description, the animator was joking when they said that "pencil and paper was a program". They said it was a super primitive program (hmm I wonder what that implies...) and that you can get a crack at Office Depot, which is a store that sells stationary and art supplies. You can even search up "pencil and paper art program", you'll end up getting nothing but looking stupid. The joke isn't that obscure, it's unbelievable how it's went over three heads so far. Please stop trying to "correct" me, it's getting hard to count the number of people making a fool of themself.
