I'd be able to give the game props if EA didn't cut the 8th gen out of the loop when other devs are making games for both 8th and 9th gen consoles with some compromises for the former.

I'd do the same if they stopped using Frostbite for every game. Chameleon is way better suited for NFS in my opinion.
