You celebrate Midsummer :o I already had a great view regarding latvia, and this video only made me appreciate this country more. The lifestyle, the architecture, the sheer happiness that seems to radiate from everything....It's magical. Latvia seems amazing, and I'll probably pay it a visit next summer. Mary Christine Yes Midsummer celebration is held in 23. night and 24. of June. Latvians are one of the last Pagans in Europe and we have lots of Paganic traditions alongside with christianity. It's a big fun and feeling of freedom in here. You should come and check it out. :)

Hello In few days, Im going to have a project talking about latvia and I want to ask you some questions, if there's no problem. Which are the shedules in the school? Is there any organization or minister working with youth? Do they teach vocational education, in which areas? Does the young people has opportunities? I love your video, it shows amazing and beautiful things of latvia.

+Yuliana veras These are quite hard questions as I'm not living in Latvia for past 5 years.. However, I will try to do my best to answer. Q: Which are the schedules in the school? A: Schedules differ from school to school across the country. However, most schools start at 8 and finish around 2 or 3/4pm, if you are at high school. One lesson is 40 minutes long, which is followed by 5 or 10 minute break. Q: Is there any organization or minister working with youth? A: There are several organisations working with youth, private and state funded. As well as we have Minister of Education and Science, who is mostly focusing on improvements in education system at this point. Latvia is in front of some great changes in terms of this. Q: Do they teach vocational education, in which areas? A: Yes, a youngster can choose to get a vocational degree after they have graduated from 9th grade (16/17 years old usually). Schools where you can get these degrees are called "professional schools" as it is pretty self-explanitory - you are prepared for a certain profession. And there are many areas covered: starting from fashion designers, make-up artists, cooks to steelworkers and hospitality specialists. Q: Does the young people has opportunities? A: Young people always have opportunities! It depends on education, commitment and ambitions. In terms of this, in Latvia it's absolutely the same as in any other country :) Hope this helped you a bit. Good luck with the project!

video started great, shots of Riga are among best I've seen ever. Jurmala also looked good. but what with rest of country? are you really saying all worth visiting in Latvia, in terms of nature and culture, is in such small circle Riga-Jurmala? imho, all Batics is not really worthvisiting region, compared to rest of Europe, and your video did not improve this opinion.

This video was made as a representation of Latvia for a Youth Exchange project. Because of that we had a time limit for the video and we needed to make a choice what to show. However, as I am from Riga, I chose to show the city I associate myself with and its closest resort - Jurmala. Still, it's a pity to hear that you do not consider Baltics as worth visiting. Maybe someday you will change your mind! So far - have a nice day!
