The fact that Shawn must felt lonely and different bc his dad turned him into a monster in observation. Not letting him do what he wanted to do as a kid, in order to make him a cop, and Shawn as the script said, felt embarrassed about his intelligence and his capabilities that he was trying to use jokes as a defense mechanism. Shawn had the gift and still tried to act like he was an idiot in order to fit in. The actual opposite from Sherlock Holmes and yet, best un canonical Sherlock Holmes adaption ever. Also, his mum supposedly was there but she did not stop his dad from closing him in a truck in order to teach him how to get out of it, all this time i remember thinking that she was dead until they showed her to us and i realized that she did not leave until Shawn was 15 i think. So that means, that even though she was there with Shawn and his dad, she was not really there.

@@chikori14 when I was first watching I used to say that he got held at gunpoint to many times but never got shot and how little he got hurt when he was being well ... Shawn but I realized that people love to hit him on the head
