I can't speak for other gay people but the way the show portrays a homosexual relationship is exactly how I want it to be seen both in the media and in life in general: it's not about making a show "about" a gay couple, and it's not about giving the protagonist a "sassy gay friend". It's about having a protagonist who is a complex character with virtues and flaws, biases and passions and likes and dislikes, and who happens to be in a relationship with someone of the same sex and, just like with straight leads, the story will sometimes include comments about spending the weekend with your partner or missing your significant other after being separated for almost a year. The relationship doesn't need to drive the story, but it's just taken as part of the complex and multifaceted nature of the characters involved.

And it's the least weird thing in Night Vale. It's not commented on at all, it's just there. (Of course, we assume Cecil is cis male. Gender is different in Night Vale, and he might not even be human. I mean, it's canon that he's at least human /shaped/, but what do we know? But even that's not important to the goings on in Night Vale, so who cares?)

Exactly! I remember when I was listening to it, it never even occurred to me that this is a 'gay relationship', he just loves Carlos! It was perfect, as a cis female married to another cis female, it is exactly how it went with me and my wife, neither of us even identify ourselves through our sexuality, so it was nice that they didn't either. Cecil and Carlos are just perfectly together.

It's weird he's obviously a different person from Cecil Gershwin Palmer but you can really tell where Cecil Baldwin lends himself to his character. Talking about normal non night vale things but his voice still rises and falls with his emotions like the character. It's really cool. Also I didn't know he has a boyfriend in real life that's really cool!

Omg I was the first in line at The Booksmith performance he talks about at 0:17:55. I waited outside for five hours straight in line with a giant backpack and no seats and got to talk to Cecil and tell him how long I'de been waiting and get a picture with him at the end. Incredible performance and definitely worth seeing :)

you could still chalk up the mouse clicks in the first episode up to something supernatural XD 1, like there was a sound floating around, producing mouce clicks in random areas 2, Cecil is like Fey (lol, his boyfriend does like science) 3, or there was a wormhole sending sounds from one end to the other; one being someone at their computer and the other being where Cecil is (it doesnt even have to be that visible, just enough to send sound)
