As requested, here is a look at more than just Mom & Me Monday. I feel like it highlights how I balance individual teaching with both girls. I know that homeschooling more than one learner is a common pressure point. Let me know, do you have strategies that work for you? Would you like to see more on more than 1 kid homeschool?

Thank you so much for making this video! It was so helpful to see the flow of your homeschool week and how you manage your time between both of your girls. It was very inspirational to me to try to come up with ideas on how my two kids can be more independent as well.

Encouraging their independence is what I think makes all the difference and keeps our homeschool manageable.

So you also enjoy the lack of having to report. 🥳

I love the independence, but what if they just don’t work without your eyes on them?! Even handwriting… I mean mine is 6 but asks for help on it. So I sit next to him and he writes.

We've always had this be part of our routine. You may have to build up slowly. For us, it's non-negotiable. However, we've laid the foundation for that to be possible. Start slow and small, maybe a fun maze book they enjoy so that they can work 1 or 2 pages a day, and then you just check it over after. Build it up from there.

I think it’s great your kiddos work independent like that! My oldest has schooled independently since we started homeschooling at grade 5 and now she’s an 8th grader. She’s amazing at it and doesn’t want my help at all. My current 5th grader is not like that. He is not a worksheet kid and is a hands on learner and sensory kid. His school involves me a lot more. I do like the idea of using a flow for him for the few activities he does alone to increase his stamina.

I do think there's a lot to be said for birth order. I'm a first born daughter and I can see those same tendencies in my oldest.

Could you share where you found the container to hold the Math U See manipulatives? I tried ordering a similar box from Amazon, but it wasn’t large enough ☹️
