I loved all your answers guy on s Q an A Some good questions. The answer to the older men coming to help you was totally right. Comes down to my thought. Life for some of us older guys try's to take the country out of you but the dream of country never leaves. I laughed at the answer sexing rocks was very funny. The problem with rocks like to they breed an some females like to hide very well. It seems that the female rocks tend have hiding places for their baby rocks that grow.. It also seem that no matter how many bull rocks you find there is always some hide and breed . You see the baby rocks each spring LOL Matt you have a interesting way of raising your cattle it is different Love the videos

Absolutely right about starting from scratch. Had a job until we grew it big enough with my dad. Flipped cattle as well. Never keep heifers around here, try to buy and sell cows and calves on the highs and lows of the market. The wife still has a good job that we live on and reinvest what the farm turns over into itself constantly. The third generation will have it much easier if they so wish to farm.

We had Rocks, not Boulders in our Ohio garden that we gathered each year and gave to the corn field behind the garden that would migrate back to the garden in Spring somehow! 😆

Greeting from Ireland, love your chats about farming ,it's strange ,we seem to have similar problems this side of the pond, the advice is the same as you gave, if you want to go farming don't give up the day job the margins are too thin.

I grew up in Pennsylvania where we had pheasants flying everywhere. About 1980, our pheasant population went from booming to almost no birds over night. Must have been something like avian flue that wiped them out, never to return. The only ones around anymore are the pheasants stocked by the game commission. Those dumb birds stand along the road waiting for the truck to pick them back up. The ones that don’t get shot or run over can lay eggs, but they won’t set on them to hatch out. What a loss for future generations.

not anything like it used to be or even close to what so. dak. has.. Roundup and high priced corn has reduced the habitat in Nebr. signifigantly.

You’re just like my dad Matty Ice. “”Did Dane ever start ranching?” Interest rates, cost of land, and input costs keep the next generation from being managers. Sorry to say - but we’re all waiting for the boomers to die - so we can inherit and run it how we want. We’ll take you all to the end of the pasture 😂😂😂😂😂
