Hello everyone ! So here's my first video about places and travel around the world. For the first video I will introduce my hometown, a historical city located on the northeast coast of Borneo.
As for today, I visited Kg Sim-Sim, that is famous for its grilled fish and other seafood in Sandakan. Then I had a short walk around the city with a friend, Isran and we also visited the central market, with variety of foods and stuff from fresh fruits to fresh seafood.
We also had the chance to taste the famous Soto Makassar, an Indonesian traditional soup originating from Makassar itself. Why go to Makassar when you can taste it yourself here at Soto Makassar run by Hj Alimuddin.
Our next stop is the Puh Jih Shih temple, a well-known Buddhist temple located at the hilltop of Tanah Merah at Sandakan Bay. It offers panoramic views of the city.
My last stop is at Sandakan Memorial Park. The park is a memorial site built in the former grounds of the former Sandakan camp. The site is dedicated as a memory for all prisoners in the camp who died during the Sandakan Death Marches, and to those died during a march to Ranau, Sabah during the World War 2.
There are many other attractions that you can visit when you are at Sandakan as I listed below :
- Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre
- Agnes Keith House
- Turtle Islands
- Rainforest Discovery Centre
- Sandakan Crocodile Farm
- Labuk Bay Proboscis Monkey Sanctuary
- Bornean Sun Bear Conservation Centre
and many more !
Hope all of you enjoy this video and stay tune for more upcoming adventure !
