Serious question as i don't know league... how do you flash against a wall? I thought if you are close to a wall and you flash you land on the other side? Was he to far away? Do you have to stand right next to the wall as you flash?

Some walls are thicker and you have to be closer to them to get over to the other side.

Flash has a certain range, so if you are trying to flash over a wall that is pretty thick, so thick that the flash range indicator shows the range in the wall, the flash "teleports" you into the position that is the closest from the spot you wanted to flash into. When positioned incorrectly, you flash but you dont get over the wall, because the shortest route from the clicked destination was on the side of the wall you already were on.

When you're about to flash over a thick wall like that, you should be ready to stick your champion against the wall, and place your cursor over the wall to gurantee the flash. However, take Quid's vex flash attempt as an example, I think he was genuinely panicking. He did not stop or prepare for the flash play, instead he didnt stop his right clicking and immediately pressed flash, which he would later fail the flash over the wall. Right clicking to a place dictates your champion's movement and their path. So due to his right clicking, his champion was trying to get to the other side of the wall by walking around it , which is the nearest path to reach where his mouse was clicking. Therefore, his champion was not sticking close enough to the wall for the flash play, and that flash came out very short. You can look closely as vex was walking away from the wall for a just brief moment. It happens to everyone. Or the other case would be Quid did not place his cursor over the wall.
