York actually meant a stranger in Sherbro as it was indeed named originally by the British, hence the grassroots settlers, i.e., Sherbro translation is a welcome stranger. York has a great historical history of liberated Africans.

I have a basic understanding and limited awareness of how the slave trade and its end touched Sierra Leone, but this kind of detail and information is significant. It's our country's heritage, and it helps us get to know ourselves better. This appears to be a teaser, a small taste of a more extensive study, but it was terrific, Triple-A, and well done. You've whetted my appetite to know more about York Village, and I can't wait for the next video (or, dare I ask, series? 😀). This is why I love and look forward to your work. Yes, I watched up to Freetown Road. I am glad to learn about York history ---- the Sherbro People, the Creoles who were and are presently no other than Africans that returned back to Africa after the abolition of the slave trade which I prefer to call (THE S TRADE)! I heard about Water Street, the cemetaries, ......! And Triple A(AAA) I am in New Jersey, USA. Please keep up the good work 👏 🙌 👍 👌 🙏 💪!
