Sometimes, people come for Kandi for the most convoluted downright dumb reasons. Xscape backed their argument for wanting top billing, and SWV didn't. They sold more records in the 90s, but what is your draw now? And if the groups are going to co-headline, then SWV gotta pay half the costs associated with that agreement, like Tiny said.

I watched Kandi 's Speak on It and Kandi never said anything about them having to pay fees as headliners and that SWV didn't want to split the bill. She ONLY said that Xscape shouldn't have to take a pay cut. And to that I felt that instead of crying about a pay cut the offer of helping this legendary group who she claims they love, why not present an opportunity for SWVs pay to come up that way Xscape's pay wasn't affected after that. But that's just my thoughts obviously Kandi don't move that way...

I wish more parents felt that way, especially in the black community. I feel it would prevent certain generational curses being repeated and perpetuated. My mom, for instance, never talked to me about sex, guys, dating, relationships, anything of that nature. and Ive struggled in that area the most although (surprise,surprise) my mom is the main one telling me I need a man, I need to get married, etc because of my hardships. which let me know, she thinks a man is the answer to my problems and explains why she always chased having a husband rather than a life partner who would be a positive influence on her children. Her husband hates me and we have a strained relationship because of it. So telling the story is only a small piece of it. My mom told many stories, to make my father look like the bad guy but I have no clue who she as a woman, as a friend, anything like that. I love Tiny and Zonniques relationship because it represents a rainbow after the rain.

You are not accurately reporting SWV’s success. They released 3 albums in the 90s just like y’all did. The other 2 came after they reunited. SWV has 1 multi-platinum album (debut album is 3x platinum), 1 platinum album, and a gold album. Xscape does not have any multi-platinum albums. They also have a Billboard Hot 100 #1 hit. Xscape does not have that either. They also have international top 10 hits, Xscape does not have that either. They are more successful y’all. Y’all are not on the same level as them in terms of sales and hits.

​@Alexander Gilliam That's the thing tho, SWV said there was no pay cut situation or any offer of such. I'm not saying it's not an industry practice or that it doesn't happen, I'm just saying SWV said that wasn't what was going on for them. With that said, whenever markee artist or markee names collaborate on a show or tour, they set up a co-headline to eliminate who gets on stage before or after, they switch between sets, and an opening act or acts are also chosen. The co-headliners can close the show together. When it comes to finances on the co-headline markee, a figure is met in the middle and it's split 50/50. If you are an artist that doesn't perform as much or tour as much, then yes you can negotiate a bigger fee for that reason. This is all from what I researched. Nothing to do with either group. But my fav groups (day one fan of both) worked it out. I like to see resolve, I don't like to see people fighting.
